Harry, Paul, Ken & Sal
Episode 2 coming up on Aug 2 has some party at Paul's. Is anyone else dying of curiosity to see more story on the rest of the guys? How's Harry's marriage didn't blow up, so where's that leave Hildy? Doesn't Ken ever date women other than business-related? Who was that with Sal, and has he gone completely undercover? We know Paul's story is coming up, but let's see more background - after all, they may all end up in the fight of their lives with Duck Phillips.

My guess is that after a couple of more nights in his office, Harry's wife opened the door and let him back in. Divorce carried such a stigma about it of shame and embarrassment, especially for the the wife that it was easier for Harry's wife to try and forget about it. The wife would have been looked at like "What did she do, not please her man? or She was a good wife was she". Perhaps Sal was "scared straight" or temporarily, given the fact that homosexuality was viewed as total non conformity at a time when conformity was the norm and expected. I like how the Paul /Orson Welles story line is carrying over into this season. We got just a taste with the Kennedy Vs. Nixon episode. Especially with the neck scarf he's wearing during the party scene in addition to his new beard. I wonder if Paul is emulating Welles because of the physical resemblance and one artist (Paul as a writer) imitating another artist... imitation is the sincerest form of flattery . Or Paul looking for a way to express his own identity and this is a step towards that? I'm probably reading too much into that. I love how he apparently "borrowed" a typewriter from SC.
I kinda feel sorry for Paul, it seemed like he and Joan might have had a pretty good thing going until he blabbed and she got wind of it. He seemed to really still care for her in the epi about the all-nighter "watch party" at the office (Nixon vs. Kennedy)--when he asked her to dance and all that. He was drunk/hungover but he seemed to let it show/slip (that he still cared) when he said "What did I do wrong?" and when she answered "You have a big mouth." He looked so wistful. Maybe that new dr. fella of Joan's will bite the dust and she'll take back up with Paul at his party this Sunday night.
