Missing Character In Season 2?

Christopher Allport, who played Pete Campbell's father, was killed in an avalanche. So yes, there will be a missing character this season. Perhaps they will work his death into the story line -- he was always disapproving of Pete, how do you think this will affect the character's own career motivations?
Now that his father in law is gone, Pete will become a different person. He will branch out and take more risks. He may even treat his wife differently. You can see how he treats Peggy at the office.
I think there must be something in the father´s will that crushes him. His father leaving everything to his wife and other son or something. He didn´t seem to like Pete that much. Maybe the second season start with his father´s funeral so we see Pete´s brother, who is hopefully exactly like Don Draper but carefree, for the first time.
I am sorry about Christopher Allport. I really loved his scene last year.
