Vincent's Award: Which Category?

Did anybody know what category Vincent's Award was in? Something like "male breakthrough" or "supporting actor TV"? I can't find any information on it, neither here nor at the magazine's site. Do the "Young Hollywood Awards" have any categories at all?

Peggy's Pregnancy

Did Elizabeth Moss, the actress who plays Peggy, actually have a baby? If not, I think the costume and make up people did a remarkable job -- especially with the fat around the jaw line.

Red In The Face: Don's Revenge

I've watched season 1 on my iTunes at least three times already, and only now did I catch Don paying off the elevator operator for... something. Only at the end of the episode with Don's smirk after Roger (his boss) got sick after having to climb 18 flights of stairs (not to mention all that vodka & oysters), did I finally get it. Don was getting back at his boss for hitting on his wife in the previous episode! Did anyone else get that?

Smoke Gets in Your Eyes -- Peggy and the Exam

I reviewed the first episode again for the third time and still picked up on things I had not before. One was towards the end of the show when Peggy goes to get an exam for birth control pills. As the doctor was talking to her she happened to look over at the calendar and it was March. That night she had a go-around with Pete -- the pills don't work that fast! There are thirteen episodes and if she saw that it was March and delivered in November. Well you do the math. I love a good mystery. It takes delicious writing to try to speculate on the events that have happened and the events to come.

Fabulous Show -- Can't Wait for Season 2

There are not enough superlatives to describe my delight with this intelligent and most entertaining series. Having been a very young teenager in 1960, I can attest to the dead-on accuracy in all aspects of its presentation. From the obvious -- fashions, hairstyles, and settings right down to minute details such as a bottle opener on the garage door frame to the uncannily perceptive portrayal of the attitudes, mores and psychology of this more innocent, yet evolutionary period in our society's past, it never ceases to enthrall. I cannot get enough.

I came upon this show in its first run quite by accident. Who would guess that AMC would feature a weekly serial? Once discovered, I was intrigued and then hooked. I taped and watched all of the reruns, including the episodes I had already seen. I cannot recall the last time I found such high quality programming on what is correctly, now more than ever, known as the "boob tube". It is a testament to the idiocy of the major networks to pass on something like this in favor of the new 'reality' t.v, or worse, air weekly series which require the viewer to suspend reality entirely to believe the fictional, often fantastic, stories they choose to tell.

Kudos to AMC for enhancing the 'vast wasteland'. Kudos to the creative genius of Matthew Weiner who brings us the readily recognizable personalities who populate the world of Mad Men and kudos to the cast of fine actors who bring them to life. There is nothing not to like about this series. It is a joy to savor its many nuances, both transparent and subtle. I have spread the word among my peers to give this show a chance. I am positive that they will not be disappointed. All I want to know is the date and time for the Season Two debut!

Episode 5 - Some Questions

I'm watching episode 5 and Don won a special award. A horseshoe-topped trophy - exactly what is that?
What kind of award did Don win? And what is the meaning of Newkie? I think some parts of this drama could be not true. I know that. But at the same time I anxious to know actor's words is true or not. A horseshoe-topped trophy is really existing award?

Question about Don and Pete

During the episode where Pete is blackmailing Don and threatens to disclose Don's real identity, Bertram Cooper, after hearing Pete's conversation, told Don that he could fire Pete if he liked. On a later episode, Bertram is making sure Pete stays on with the firm because Pete's family is very influential. Was this a change in the story line or was it just changed for some other reason?
