The Best Ad Campaign

In the premiere episode of Mad Men, Don tells Rachel Menken that she's never been in love because love doesn't exist. "What you call love," he says, "was invented by guys like me to sell nylons." But nylons aren't the only things Sterling Cooper has tried to sell thus far.

Culture Quiz Winners Announced

Mad_men_dvd_giveaway_mg_0620 We'd like to thank all of the Mad Men fans that submitted entries to our "Mad Men DVD Giveaway & Culture Quiz" for which we asked you to pick out a book, movie, or TV show mentioned in Season One then discuss how it relates to a scene, the characters, or the show's larger themes.  We were delighted with the insight present in all the submissions—you made it tough to pick out just three winners.

That said, congratulations are due to the victors: Deborah, Charliefoxtrot, and Eric Cooley.  We'll be getting in touch with you via e-mail to confirm where you'd like your Season 1 DVDs shipped.

We hope you'll all be enjoying the encore airings of Mad Men beginning Sunday nights at midnight following our new series Breaking Bad on January 20th.

Check out Deborah,  Charlie and Eric's winnning entries after the jump.

Mad Men DVD Giveaway & Culture Quiz

Obsessed with Mad Men—to the point that you look up every book, movie and TV show mentioned by the characters?  Here's your chance to make that compulsive behavior pay off.  AMC is having a DVD giveaway. Here’s what to do.

1.In the comments field below, post the title of a book, movie, or TV show mentioned in Season One.
2. Explain how this reference connects to scene, the characters, or the show’s larger themes (150 words max).
3. Do it again and again and again. (We already know you're compulsive.)

We'll pick three winners based on a combination of thoughtfulness and creativity. Comments must be posted by midnight on January 7th. Winners will be announced January 14th, a week before reruns of Season One kick into gear again.

Feel free to post questions regarding the contest itself; we’ll respond to those here as well.
