It's (almost) a wrap: The final round of voting for this year's "You Could Be on Mad Men Video Contest" has ended. The entries were superb, and a grand-prize winner -- who will have the chance at a walk-on role in Season 4 -- will be selected by series creator Matthew Weiner by Thu., Nov. 12. (Ten first-prize winners, based on votes, will receive a DVD set of Season 2.) In the meantime, the comments section will remain open. See if you can persuade Mr. Weiner to pick your favorite entry!

The voting period for the "You Could Be on Mad Men" video contest ends in a week, and there's an impressive amount of talent showcased by the current top five entries. Leading the way (as of 2PM ET) are two stripped-down takes on Don Draper: One by Jason Klink (379 votes) and another by Rich Finely (318 votes). Not far behind is a female twist on the same man, by Hilary Walker (307 votes). Rounding out the front-runners are a quietly confident Bobbie Barrett, by Cara Kohl (303 votes), and a jaded Joan Holloway, by Taylor Renee Campbell (297 votes).

It's easy to forget -- what with their predilection for the boardroom and the bar -- that the characters of Mad Men are equally at home in suburbia. Teri Schnaubelt delivers Bobbie Barrett's lines from inside a mid-century convertible parked on a quiet suburban street. Her hushed delivery and the trees rustling in the breeze hint at the turmoil within. Nice work!

Atmosphere isn't easy to evoke in 55 seconds, but there's an impressive amount of it in this Don Draper submission by Dave Del Greco. It depicts a discreet conversation between businessmen in a club-room setting, and Del Greco's swagger as he handles a tumbler of whiskey suggests he's about to seal a deal.

In this interpretation of Bobbie Barrett's monologue by Amy Lloyd, the devil is in the (period) details, including Lloyd's '50s-style button-front dress and a décor that conjures a men's club (notice the pendulum clock). They all conspire to convincingly evoke the long-lost era of Mad Men.

Rhe De Ville's seductive musical interpretation of Roger's lines -- "Don't you love the chase?" -- may be enough to get Mr. Sterling himself to throw in the towel. Her singing chops and clever cutting of dialogue definitely make her a worthy contender.

Exuding quiet confidence isn't the only way to make an impression: Acting with full-on exuberance works too. James Grimaldi takes just such an approach in his impression of Jimmy Barrett (which includes its own laugh track). When Grimaldi buries his face in a bag of munchies, he leaves little doubt in our minds that, far from a squirrel, he's one ferocious dude.

So it's hard not to be struck by the cool restraint of the Bobbie interpreted by Cara Kohl. Ms. Kohl's quiet, captivating confidence makes Bobbie's mini-lecture on the brute realities of life cutting in a fresh, new way.
