Share Your Favorite Sally Draper Sayings

Sometimes Sally relies on her fists instead of words, but when the oldest Draper kid does share what's on her mind, it can be quite profound. Oftentimes, it's also incredibly endearing.

We'll randomly choose one contributor to win a Mad Men poster, a Mad Men Dyna Moe desktop set, or some Mad Men DVDs. Your selection may even end up on the Mad Men website. Geez Louise.
Season 3, Episode 10, "The Color Blue"

She said this under her breath when her mother told her not to take the phone call hang up so personally.

"You say things and you don't mean them. And you can't just do that!"

Episode 212, The Mountain King. Sally echoed my sentiments exactly.
"I'm telling Daddy when he gets home." and "He left because you're stupid and mean!" This is the best part of the exchange between Sally and Betty during the opening scene of the 12th episode of the season, after her mother has caught her trying to smoke in the hall powder room.
This still ranks as one of my favorite scenes featuring Sally even though she turned in some amazing performances this season.
I hope Kiernan Shipka gets a supporting Emmy nod. She is as good as most of the other females on the show and has lots of promise for the future. Only Elizabeth Moss and Christina Hendricks impressed me more. She holds her own with January Jones.

Episode 304: The Arrangements
"Why are you laughing?
I heard you, I heard you laughing.
How could you be sitting there
like nothing’s happening?
Like he’s not
GONE?
He was here, now
He’s not here
He’s gone forever, and nobody
even knows that. He’s dead
And he’s never coming back.
He’s DEAD, and nobody cares
That he’s really,
really
really GONE."

My grandfather died right before I saw this episode. When Sally started crying out with this speech I really felt the same way. Though we may see it as a child unable to understand how adults react to death or death itself, I think it's such an honest expression of pain that we all feel but try to compress when someone dies.
Sally really reminds me of Betty here.

I love Sally, but her all time best quote was "You made him sleep in Gene's room and it's scary in there." Season 3, Shut the Door. Have a Seat. I love the way she emphasized "scary".

I love Sally! It's awesome when she plays bartender, but also love the scene when the family has a picnic and Don throws his beer can out on the lawn while they leave trash lying around. Sally says, "I'm glad we don't live in the olden days." It's Season 2... episode 7?

My favorite lines from Sally are when she is taking to Don about Halloween Costumes in Season 3 episode #11 "The Gypsy and The Hobbo."
Sally: "They sell it at Woolworth's"
Don: "You wear it once,...plus it's made out of plastic and it's crap."
Sally: "I'm always gonna love Minnie Mouse."

I think she says Woolworth's, but she might have said Ward's(Montgomery) It's hard to tell from her lisp pronounciation.

...In regards to Season 3 Episode 10- "The Color Blue" When she says it under her breath as some of you have said, Do you think she meant "The Caller Blew" as in the caller sucks?!? They both sound alike when you say it...LOL. I think the writers were trying to have some fun with Homophones on this one!!! Clever....

Betty: You'll have two Christmases.
Sally: I only want one!

"Is that your maid?"--referring to Kinsey's girlfriend in "Three Sundays"

runner up: the silent moment when the cup falls out of her hand after she's passed out in the couch, obviously taking after Daddy (also in "Three Sundays")
