I loved the exchange between Don and Betty while they were waiting on Mr. Hilton.

Don loves foreign films, and he was living one in the Rome bar scene. Juxtapose this scene with the one in S2 Episode 1 where Betty meets him at the Savoy. The Savory scene takes my breath away in its sheer beauty, but the Rome scene reveals so much more about both of their true characters. Don loves the chase and knowing that his woman is the one everybody wants, while Betty feeds on being be the center of attention.
This scene, and the subsequent hotel room scene, rivals only the scene in Rachel's apartment (The Long Weekend) after Roger had his heart attack for hotness. This episode will surely be nominated for everything!

Titi: I would have sworn it was Bobby Van as well, with Kay Coulter. It was a very popular recording from "On Your Toes".

"There's a Small Hotel" is also featured in the film and Broadway (2008) production of Pal Joey!
