Reviews of Episode 5 and Final Emmy Predictions

It's very nearly Emmy night, so that means final predictions are now in. Not to mention fresh reviews of Episode 5 and wedding news regarding some of the female cast members. Take a look:

• For those of you who aren't night owls, Elisabeth Moss was on Jimmy Fallon last night and invited him to her nuptials. You can watch the video here. Moss is also on the cover of Venice magazine (no link).

• Speaking of wedding bells, Christina Hendricks is featured on the Fall 2009 cover of InStyle Weddings.

The LA Times has a handy prediction grid to help you keep Emmy night options straight.

Ken Tucker says he thinks Mad Men will take the drama category. The Vancouver Sun breaks it all down too.

TV Guide chimes in with its own opinion. They think Mad Men will win, but (cough, cough) think Lost should.

The AP notes that Emmy voters don't always go for the crowd-pleasers.

• As part of their coverage of New York Fashion Week, the Wall Street Journal pointed out the Mad Men influences on Marc Jacobs' new collection.

• Whereas other papers reported that Tahari's men's line also seemed Mad Men trim.

• Reviews of Episode 5 were carried by the LA Times, the SF Chronicle, the Chicago Tribune, Slate, and The Onion's AV Club which gave it an A-.

• The NY Times takes a look at Duck's use of the term "nosh."

• And finally, check out this latest (and bawdy) Mad Men spoof on Funny or Die.

.....Saw the In Style Weddings cover in the market, and was wowed (again) at Christina's natural beauty.

The dress was gorgeous and simple, and her makeup and hair were flawless, and very subtle.

She is the most beautiful lily, in need of no gilding!

I loved the fact that Vinnie K. played matchmaker (intentional or not) for CH and her intended, Geoffrey....cool. Their wedding date is the same as my parents' ~~ October 11 (1941).....

Hope it brings them good luck! My parents were married over 55 years!

Now there's one beautiful bride for you, btw!

Congrats to EM and Fred, too! I think her wedding is pretty soon, it seems.

Maybe all these MM weddings will inspire Jon Hamm and Jennifer W....not that it matters, but it would be cool if they got married, I don't know why I care, but I do.

.....Critics this morning seem to feel that Jon Hamm and Mad Men will win in their respective categories.

The San Francisco Chronicle predicted that John Slattery will win for Best Supporting Actor.

Hopefully the other very deserving MM nominees will be rewarded also.

Best of luck to all!

Love to see JH win again (when he did win, he never got to walk the walk ~~ to the stage ~~ because of ?....can't remember)

I want John S. to win tomorrow night...he deserves some long overdue recognition for his work as Roger.

.....Glad it's not just me! It was the writers' strike.

Jon won the Golden Globe, for which he was robbed of accepting on screen. Bryan Cranston won the Emmy.

Yes, Jon was robbed of the Emmy, and I am so hoping he gets it tonight. He deserves it for the acting job, but I would settle for his just getting it for being so gorgeous! He will at least get up on stage this year because he is a presenter.

As for his marrying his live-in. I predict they will break up soon. They have been together too long with no wedding, and in some earlier interviews, he seemed to scoff at the whole idea of marriage. Now he says that if she says she wants marriage he'll do it. To paraphrase Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally, " It's not that he didn't want to get married, he just didn't want to marry me."
