Mad Men After Dark Hits Columbus Circle

Perhaps you were walking around Columbus Circle last night and noticed an old-time advertisement for Popsicle or Belle Jolie... only 12-stories tall? Wednesday night marked the debut of "Mad Men After Dark," a three-minute loop of vintage ads from the 1960s (along with some Sterling Cooper standouts) projected against the facade of NYC's Museum of Art & Design.

Visitors last night were treated not just to the projection, but to models in period dress (cinch-waisted dresses, fedoras, etc) perambulating around the statue of Christopher Columbus and posing for photos with amused (and some confused) tourists.

The projection, which is part of the New York Gone Mad celebration, continues through Sat., Aug. 15. As the name suggests, it takes place in the evening hours, so be sure to head over after sunset.
