The Marketing of Mad Men Season 3: See the Story Behind Its Creation
Even ad guys need a marketing push now and then so here's to the Season 3 promotional imagery -- that's key art, in industry slang -- which starts appearing today on bus shelters, billboards and magazines near you. Check out the accompanying video for a behind-the-scenes look at how the campaign came to be and how the artwork was created to accompany it. (After you take a look, feel free to share your interpretations and thoughts in the comments section below.)
Don't forget: Mad Men returns to AMC on Sun., Aug. 16, at 10PM | 9C. You can also watch a new trailer here should you need any convincing about the show's seductive qualities.

.....Thanks for bringing all these things to us.
This whole site rocks.
Now that is a cool process...JH is a good sport...no big surprise there!
Thanks for the neat vid, AMC!
This much attention to detail, theme, character and storyline only serve to demonstrate that Mad Men is the class of television. Matt Weiner and Company have not only set the bar, they have placed it in the stratosphere. Just one more reason why I love this show.
Another brilliant campaign. Where can I purchase a poster?
You need to give one away with cast/crew signatures on it. Or, a great charity auction. Or, just give me one!
Just guessing, vincent, but so far when posters are quoted each Friday in the "What You're Saying" threads, they have won prizes such as posters, pens, mugs, etc....and last season that poster that had Don in Grand Central Station (the S2 poster) was pictured as a prize more than once, so maybe they might offer these new posters (Don seated in the rising water) as prizes during S3...again, just a guess.....AMC?
LOVE, LOVE, love the "behind the camera" video that shares the production process and the many considerations that bring a big idea to life!
Thanks for doing these! They are so facinating!
Hallelujah!!!
