Last Thoughts on the Emmy Nominations (Prior to the Official Word) From the Critics

With less than a day to go until the nominations are finally announced, let's take a last look at what some critics are predicting:

The San Francisco Chronicle runs down what should be nominated "in a critic's perfect world" which includes Mad Men (and Breaking Bad) in the drama category.

The Chronicle follows up today with a look at what should be recognized in the acting categories. Jon Hamm, January Jones, Elisabeth Moss are all mentioned.

The Fort Worth Star Telegram comes up with some handy "tips for clueless voters," which also includes nominating Mad Men. Writer Robert Philpot explains the show "seems like a lock again, using TV critics' year-end top 10 lists as a guideline." Philpot also suggested that January Jones will be overlooked in the dramatic actress race, as "this is a tough category to break into for people who've never been nominated." Boo. Jon Hamm does make his list of lead actors in a drama at least.

The Tampa Tribune also puts its money on Mad Men scoring a nomination for dramatic series.

The TV Squad Blog puts together its own wish list, with January Jones getting a tip of the hat from them: "Her performance last season was stellar, equal in every way to Jon Hamm's Don Draper."

We'll all find out tomorrow, at 8:35 AM EST when the announcements are made! Click here to go to the official Emmy site.

.....As a big fan of SEVERAL of the soon-to-be-nominated shows, the thing that keeps standing out about Mad Men - and what makes the fans so committed - is the absolute uniqueness and freshness of the subject matter, combined with an era-appropriate approach to very real, complex, sophisticated and very human stories and characters.

Mad Men doesn't rely on kitsch, violence, gore or profanity to shock the hell out of its viewers.

It doesn't have to.

What I'm saying is that, for those with a limited amount of time who must choose between addictions, Mad Men wins!

One of those guys spelled Elisabeth's name with a z and I hope she and JJ don't cancel each other out if both gets noms.

As always, I hope MM itself or every actor wins in every category nominated.

Hope hope.....of course, they have to get noms first...Go MM!

Hopefully the critics and the judges could have a fair judgment. Good luck to those who will be nominated. It is one of the spectacular event , it is all worth having a extra cash to witness the said event. Who doesn't want extra cash? (Heck – I'd like a little extra cash right now.) Well, unfortunately, there is no Philosopher's Stone that will make gold from lead (you can in a particle accelerator – but not enough to cash in), so any extra money you get is likely going to have to be paid back. A payday loan for a little extra cash when you have emergency expenses can be a life saver.
