Fantastic!
JH better not get robbed again like last year. Bryan Cranston is fine, but in my mind there's just no comparison and I can't help it if I think so. Go Jon/Don!
I do wish January and Christina had been nominated as well as Elisabeth. Probably would have canceled each other out if so, though. But, they both deserve a nomination is the point.
Love all the other noms for writing, costumes, hair, makeup, art direction, set design, plus series...may they win that "biggie" again!
God, I love our show!!!
...editing, directing, cinematography, and oh-God CASTING (perfect!).....all soooooo well deserved!
So well deserved; I hope Mad Men cleans house at the Emmys again this year! I was disappointed that January and Christina were snubbed too, but it's awesome to see Elisabeth Moss in the lead actress category - especially when that category is filled with other actresses playing tough-as-nails cops or detectives.
Mad Men gets 16 nominations, second only to 30 Rock (another show I totally adore) with 22 - not to mention Jon Hamm is representing both sides with an acting nomination for both Don Draper and his three-episode stint playing the excessively handsome but ironically inept Dr. Drew Baird.
Congrats again, guys. The MM cast and crew TOTALLY deserve all the recognition they get. :D
Congratulations!! Wow, 16 nominations--I'll be rooting for you all in each category. Too bad about January and Christina (and Vincent, too!!), but there's no chance that Mad Men isn't going to walk away without a Writing win--the show represents 4 out of the 5 nominations!
.....If they don't clean up this time, I'm going to pull both a Freddy Rumsen AND a Duck Phillips.
Possibly at the same time.
Yes! Way to go MM!
Congrats
Congrats to Mad Men on all those nominations!
.....Wow, it's MAC! Hi Mac!!
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced the nominees for the 36th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards. The Emmy Nominations 2009 list is long, which has a lot to do with the number of categories, and there 101. At any rate, Outstanding Drama nominees include Lost, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Mad Men, and House MD. Outstanding Comedy nominees include 30 Rock, Entourage, and Family Guy. Some of the acting nominations are Alec Baldwin, Steve Carell, Hugh Laurie, and veteran William Shatner, for his role in Boston Legal, which was recently canceled. The nominated shows put a lot of fast cash into a TV show good enough to get on the list of Emmy Nominations 2009.
With Season 2 the show achieved a sheer beauty that is almost never achieved in television and rarely seen even in cinema. It is simply gorgeous to look at. I would hope the show would win in all the categories mentioned, and I would add costuming, directing, music and cinematography for the scene of Betty arriving to meet Don at the Savoy in For Those Who Think Young. It still takes my breath away. I really do hope Jon Hamm wins, but I am afraid that his suble elegance may be lost on the voters. No nominaton for January and Vincent- boo hoo!
What about Roger? He was nominated last year and I thought he would take it this year. Sorry Roger, maybe next year. That's what happens when you start dating younger women. Cheers.
