Maybe the girl sitting on the steps has a bit of the look, but I am still not seeing it. I hope the people who run BR are not judging it, but then again if the star system is denoting how the winner is chosen, God help us! Let Janie Bryant or MW have a say. I was in 1st grade in 1963, and my teacher would have been perfect. I should submit my older sister's Senior yearbook photo.

I believe from reading the contest rules that after the public voting ends, the top 20 (10 male & 10 female) entries are formulated (via average ratings) from which Matt W. himself chooses the grand prize winner. Judging criteria is "Mad Men style" reflected in the photo---60% and "Originality"---40%...MW's decsion is final.

I'm with you, kathiemarie...I have some photos of my mom and dad and other folks from the '60's that would win hands down....

Dry...I bet the pic(s) you described of your mom and dad (posted about in your recent thread on the lure of smoking) would win hands down, too.

No doubt we all have similar pics from those who actually "lived" the '60's.

I do hope someone wins who has really captured the essense of our show...and not just one of the head shots sent in....I feel MW will not choose one of those!

So many of the shots are quite beautiful, and the ones who dressed and coifed for it are delightful, but it would be nice to see something different..... someone who stands out of a crowd.

Take "Flo" from Progressive Insurance, as an example. Many people may still not know about Mad Men, but everyone knows "Flo."

Oh yeah, no doubt! ("living" entrants!)---ha! But, let's face it, we all have the authentic '60's "artifacts" (well, they are!) of people actually right in the thick of it all, in our old family photos.

Yeah, I've seen a few photos already that "stand out" but no entries that are really show stopping yet...I'm sure ol' Matt will be able to spot the best one, I hope, anyway....I know there were mixed opinions of Justin Z.'s "Joan" video that won the walk-on part last year...I can see both sides, but I guess the reason I was kinda glad he won was because his video was creative and made me laugh...but, I can also understand the disappointment that the other entrants must have felt, too....it would be hard to pick the winner any way you slice it....

....funny how AMC/Lily (or whoever) hasn't had any updates on Justin yet....wonder if his walk-on is in one of the last epis or something....

Is anyone else disturbed by the fact that while the rest of us bounce around in the standings and hold steady at 2 stars, that one picture has three stars and hasn't budged? I went from #2 in the contest to all over the place now, which is fine...ish but I am just curious why that one pic hasn't moved.

That would be A LOT of technical problems -- it's been going on for days now. I can't even access my own photo, let alone browse the entries.
