Good ol' Midge....now there's a dependable woman!
A treat:
Not bad for a golfer!
Why this was never on any of the MM CD's I do not know....

.....That's some good, syrupy irony there!
For the life of me, I couldn't find the link to the list of music used in each episode, and several here have pointed out how foretelling the music selection is for this series.....
.....anyone know?
Yeah, Dry...Betty's "Band of Gold" means zilch to Don, of course.
Don Cherry...(another "Don", ha) and his feelings on marriage in that song are the exact opposite of Don Draper's....I guess that's the "irony" you meant?
I recall there was a link on the lower right side of the Main Mad Men page ages ago, but it has long since disappeared, Dry...does anyone know where that thing went???
Lily O., can you tell us????
I meant a link to the music of Mad Men, but didn't type that part in....oops.
I just purchased season 1 about a week ago & already a HUGE fan. Nothing sunk me in but a few reviews & an interview of Jon Hamm from a GQ interveiw. Great show!
Hidey and Welcome, mbustos, (you are new, right?)
The Maddicts are a great club to be in...
Don first recorded Band of Gold, his biggest hit, in the fall of 1955. After release it continued charting into early 1956. Don rerecorded the tune in 1968 for an lp -- which is likely a stereo version. In the US a female version by Kit Carson also made the charts, but to a lesser extent. Much later Freda Payne recorded a hit by the same title, but hers is a totally different song.
