Talk Forum - What You're Saying

AMCtv.com awards its Talk forum commenters quoted in our weekly "What You're Saying" post with prizes like a Mad Men pen or a Mad Men poster (limit one per person).
January Jones feature in February's issue of Vanity Fair was summed up nicely by Maddict zerelda: "I must say, if Don Draper saw these pictures, he would never stray again!! She is certainly a beautiful woman, and I almost did not recognize her as the actress playing "our Betty." Once again she is compared to a Hitchcock blonde, while her Mad Men character is described as 'uncorking a magnum of cool wrath.....emerging as the show's presiding enigma.....while inching along a hairline crack of hysteria.' Yeah, that sounds like our girl!"
The Vanity Fair piece was not the only press that Maddicts picked up on this past week. CandyGirl post "Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis-Jon Hamm Interview," uncovers a comic video interview with Jon Hamm noting that Hamm "is a great sport!" And wasthere spotted some more Mad Mad news having to do with hair: "In yesterday's (Philadelphia) Inquirer, there was an article about retro men's hairstyles. Mad Men's hairstyles was referenced in the article."

"John Hamm Would be Mad to Stay for a 3rd Season of Mad Men."
As great as the show is, he has to fullfill his own destiny, which calls him to the stars. He is one of the most beautiful creatures that there has
--probably-- been in history. He could play any part and have a great film career. No only does he have the looks of a classical actor in the the league of Gary Cooper, Cary Grant, or Gregory Peck, but someone in the league of Mastroianni, who was also a great character actor. As he proved in chapter 11 (?) of season 2 where he befriend the Euro-trash in LA, he could easily fit in as a character of la "dolce vita." Hamm projects masculinity in its essence, like the Greek god Adonis, or someone with the appeal that Mark Anthony might've had. That chapter, which also seems a homage to "Two for the Road," shows to what extent he could even play a part like Bond (not that he would be interested--hopefully).
Congratulations on the GLOBE! Great work, gang!
I would be disappointed if Jom Hamm did go on to other ventures, however he is Don Draper. Some charactors need to stay with the show until it ends. He is a strong part of the team and one who would be difficult to replace. It is only in it's third season and stil developing the players. This is my go to program DVD's and all. Rock on Madmen!
?does anyone know when the new season will begin? I can't find any information as to a start date. Thanks- Donna
