Mad Men Tops TVWeek's Critics Poll
Whatever the list might be for best TV of 2008, you're bound to find Mad Men somewhere near the top. Continuing this trend, Mad Men was listed as number one in TelevisionWeek's semiannual Critics Poll. TelevisionWeek noted "it is somehow appropriate that a series from a Sopranos alum has inherited the top spot," praising the series as a "carefully crafted period piece." Mad Men is also the first basic cable series to lead the TVWeek poll.
Also hitting the press this week was Media Life's biggest media stories of 2008 which named Mad Men "as the show that defined 2008 in television," with the Beijing Olympics and Saturday Night Live finishing second and third respectively.
Finally, the AMCtv.com blogs were included as a "favorite" in PC Mag's 100 best blogs of 2008. Recognition was extended to all of AMCtv's blogs, including those for "the excellent AMC originals Mad Men and Breaking Bad, as well as the upcoming remake of the old British TV series The Prisoner."
