Mad Men won this year's Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series beating out Boston Legal, Dexter, House and The Closer. On the stage to accept the award were cast members Jon Hamm, John Slattery, Vincent Kartheiser, January Jones, Christina Hendricks, Elisabeth Moss, Michael Gladis, Aaron Staton, Rich Sommer, Bryan Batt, Robert Morse, Mark Moses, Alison Brie, Kiernan Shipka and Aaron Hart.

"When speaking for fifteen some odd people...it's impossible to single out individuals to thank" said Jon Hamm on behalf of the cast "We have our incredibly talented crew, our incredibly talented writing staff, the people at AMC who took chances on all of us...our dozens of viewers." Hamm continued that "I think I could speak for everybody in thanking one particular person who really brought this show to light...Matt Weiner. Without what you do, what we do would be decidedly terrible."

I'm so happy they won the ensemble award!

I do wish JH and JJ had won theirs...both's performances were far superior to those of Hugh Laurie and Sally Field, in the humble opinion of this Maddict!

Meant Elisabeth M.---- not JJ.

How could anyone not see her performance as Peggy (esp. the clip shown of her confession to Pete!) was sooooo far superior to Sally Field's??!!

Oh well...we all know better, don't we?

I agree, SCfan, and I was so hoping E. Moss would win. Big disappointment until they finally won the ensemble award, then enormous elation, because really, the whole cast is wonderful.

What a thrill! How much fun! I was so bummed that Jon Hamm didn't win - AGAIN - what is wrong with these people? BUT - it was a thrill to watch the entire cast win for their ensemble acting.

As a viewer that feeling of an ensemble seems to come through the screen. I don't know if it's just that Matt Weiner hired decent, talented people with no egos - or if it's just because everything about this show is so lovely - but from outside interviews to the DVD commentaries everyone seems to get along and respect each other's talents so much - that tonight's award was especially fun to watch!

It was cute to see "Sally" and "Bobby" Draper up there as well. They were the "half" Jon Hamm joked about... too cute.

Congrats to the cast!

I was so happy. Though I feel Jon Hamm deserved it, my eldest daughter was happy for Hugh Laurie. I do not watch House, but I loved his small role in Sense and Sensibility.

Congrats and thank you all cast and crew for giving us the gift that is called Mad Men.
