Mad Men Makes New York Times' List of Most Memorable TV Moments
As part of its roundup of the Most Memorable TV Moments in 2008, the New York Times mentions the flashback in Season 2 when Don (Jon Hamm) visits Peggy (Elisabeth Moss) in a psychiatric hospital during her absence from Sterling Cooper. The Times described the scene as sealing "the compassionate bond -- sexless, opaque, unspoken -- between two colleagues and unwitting soul mates who share the fierce ambition of the low-born trying to pass in the patrician world of '60s Madison Avenue."
The other nine moments in the Times' list include scenes from The Shield (FX), In Treatment (HBO), Brotherhood (Showtime), Late Night with David Letterman (CBS), Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles (FX), The Tudors (Showtime), Hardball with Chris Mathews (MSNBC), as well as former Lehman Brothers chair Richard S. Fuld's Congressional appearance, which was broadcast on several channels.
