Talk Forum - What You're Saying

AMCtv.com awards Talk forum commenters quoted in our weekly "What You're Saying" post with prizes like a Mad Men mug or a Mad Men poster (limit one per person).
The holiday season continues to be a source of inspiration for Maddicts. MadGrad65 proposes the idea of a Christmas episode in Season 3, and wonders "How would the Draper house or the SC office be decorated?" and "What kind of Christmas trees were popular then?" As for gift giving, MadGrad is curious as to what kind of gifts Sally and Bobby would have asked for, and what sort of items Don and Betty would exchange. Any Maddict knows that the show's episodes have included holidays in the past -- Valentine's Day and Memorial Day were both in Season 2 -- so MadGrad65's post is food for thought.
NancyinOhio put together a list of what characters in the show might want for Christmas (noting that Rachel Menken is probably the "only celebrator of Hanukkah'). That list includes: "new socks to replace the ones he got gum on" for Bert Cooper; "a divorce" for Roger Sterling; "a new daddy" for Don Draper; and finally, a "new chair for the dining room" for Betty.
TyraL wishes for something that many Maddicts would also be thrilled to receive: Action figures from the show. Each figure would come with the essential accessories related to that character. For instance, "Don would come with a package of cigarettes, his war-medal and a napkin with something written on it. He would have two sets of clothes. A suit and a tux" while "Peggy would come with a notepad and a relaxizisor." Accessories for the Betty figure would be "two set's of outfits. A completely crazy dress and a riding outfit. She comes complete with a horse and a deck of cards." No mention of a Sterling Cooper office set... yet.

Is it true? Did I win something from Mad Men? That is awesome! Yay! Thank you!!
I've loved seeing them work on their accounts. Would be thrilled if Sterling Cooper & Peggy would land the "Chatty Cathy" creative. And take a real shot at hula hoops. (Though after seeing it on SNL, I've added straps to mine. Works much better that way!) And, there's always Flubber!
