Well, I am sorry, but there is absolutely no competition there for Mr. Hamm. He will surely win another well deserved Golden Globe. I sincerely hope January Jones wins this year - they should put her Golden Globe in that locked drawer of Don's desk - maybe that will inspire Betty to get out the old hammer and screw driver and get that drawer open.

About time January Jones got some recognition for her superb performance! Can't wait for Jan. 11th -- the Golden Globes are so much more fun than the Oscars (or Emmys).

Go Betty!!!!!

January Jones really was amazing this Season. I hope she wins!

Both Christina Hendricks and John Slattery were robbed of nominations, but huge congrats anyway to both Jon Hamm and January Jones for their GG nods!

Don't forget Peggy!

I really liked January Jones performance in season 2. I will keep my fingers crossed for her. Her character Betty can do it all. I thought for sure she when she fixed the dining room chair it was fixed to "break" when Don sat down as revenge.
The show is far superb compared to the others. I am so glad AMC got it (HBO is probably sorry)

I think the entire cast should be nominated...trouble is, then they would cancel each other out.

Go January and Jon ------ and Go our BELOVED MAD MEN for Best Drama Series!!!!!!!!!

Hi, I missed Season 2. Do you know if AMC is planning to rerun the episodes and when will that start? If not, is there another way to catch up on Season 2 episodes? Appreciate your feedback. Happy New Year!

January Jones - easy - absosolutely love her as Betty, but Mariska Hartigay and Sally Field are stiff competition. Not discounting January in the least, her role called for dimensions that Hartigay's didn't; but Field's role did call for depth and she is the glue that holds "Brothers & Sisters" together. Check out January Jones photo lay-out (w/small article) in this month's Vanity Fair (w/Cate Blanchett on the cover). She deserves it, but how well are the Golden Globes at giving the award to the most deserving. At least if she loses, she was nominated.
The Jon Hamm character's meandering during most of the plot in Season 2 might truly be a detriment. Let's face it, we love the calm, coherent, nothing can crack the facade Don Draper and that's not what Season 2 gave us. Mistake one, leaving Betty on her own (to go to the bar on her own and we all know what happened there). And Jon is up against some rougher competition that his "tv wife." Gabriel Byne's "In Treatment" performances have allowed his character to grow where Hamm spent the bulk of the season in a "who am I" funk. Michael C. Hall's "Dexter" is quite the dual edge character; Miami cop as serial killer who almost got caught in Season 2. If Jon Hamm wins it; it'll be close.
The series itself, though, explored and developed other characters and plotlines thoroughly enough that it can easily compete with any of the other shows listed. As a matter of fact, Pete, Peggy, the Priest, Roger, the sale of the firm, the detonation of Duckie in the negotiation meeting; all meaty enough to take the big prize.
Don't get me wrong, I'm pulling for January Jones in a big, bad, evil way. I'd love to see Jon Hamm win, but it's no gimme like it was last year; but the show, overall, has the best chance to take the ensemble prize. Should prove interesting. I know some of you won't be thrilled with this post, I am a big fan of "Mad Men," just trying to be realistic. If they walk away with all three, I'll post my apologies to all of you the day after.

This show has to be the worst show ever aired, this type of show is being watched by the future leaders of this county. I used to watch this station for years now but am almost ready to turn my TV off, and will if this type of show is going to be the FUTURE of AMC. You used to be a station that everybody wanted to watch, what happen?

user-pic

Well, Rand_hack, I think the "future leaders of this count(r)y " are more glued to "American Idol" , "The Bachelor", "Big Brother"(or any of the other cookie-cutter "reality shows"), "Dancing With The Stars", and on and on ad nauseum, than they are to Mad Men...and that's what's REALLY scary.

Congratulations Mad Men on the nominations! I hope everyone wins so that this spectacular show will get the recognition it so richly deserves. I am counting the months until Season 3. Please don't make us wait too long!!!! And what about Season 2 on DVD????

By the way Rand_hack, I don't know how old you are, but what the hell are you watching? The Andy Griffith Show on TV Land?

Baahahahha! Madwoman1950, that was funny!
