Talk Forum - What You're Saying

Throughout Mad Men Season 2, AMCtv.com has awarded Talk forum commenters quoted in our weekly "What You're Saying" post with prizes like a Mad Men pen or a Mad Men Zippo (limit one per person).

Maddicts this week were making predictions for Season 3, and many believe it will be the season where women take over. "Mona will carve a partnership out of her divorce," said Nana Benz. "Jane throws Roger under the bus by writing a steamy blockbuster novel based on what she experienced at SC. Then the atmosphere takes a decidedly more progressive direction." TipsiM chimed in with predictions for Peggy, who she said would "develop her own smashing project: A deodorant just for women." TipsiM also believed Joan will be placed "back in the television script department, after making an impassioned assertion to the men in power that women are really more in control of spending." Holottawoman agrees: "Joan marries the Doctor, but her career takes off when the clients who liked her input before request her again. The Doctor is not thrilled."

The Mad Men got consideration as well: "Paul Kinsey, desperate to write his first novel, volunteers for military service wishing to emulate his literary hero, Ernest Hemingway," predicted Polar Bear. "Lieutenant Kinsey is killed in the battle of Ia Drang after being shot by his own troops." Liquorupfront thinks Don is off to live in a Frank Lloyd Wright house, having "parlayed his buyout into a Volkswagen dealership that is wildly successful. The Drapers have sought the counsel of a sex therapist," the post continues, "and have decided to join a swingers club." Laary, meanwhile, wondered what would happen if every poster got their way: "If in Season 3 they are all happily married, never stray, Joanie Loves Chachi, all get rich, and Don says 'I'm Dick,' Betty will say 'You sure ARE one.'"

So Clayton, does this mean I qualify for the Zippo? Too cool

It does indeed -- I'll be contacting you and the other winners directly through e-mail.

Thanks!

Thanks to you Clayton. I appreciate the hard work keeping this site in check.

Did you read all of my Season 3 Predictions? How about my Relaxisor scene on the same thread? Let me know if I've gone too far.

I have this other idea that I wanted to run past you: a remake of REM's video of "Losing my religion" with the cast of Mad Men, featuring Colin Hanks and Elizabeth Moss as the religious icons and Vincent Kartheiser lip synching and dancing like lead singer Michael Sipe.

Geez, this is the first time I saw this. Clayton, can I still get that lighter? Please?
