Talk Forum - What You're Saying

Throughout Mad Men Season 2, AMCtv.com has awarded Talk forum commenters quoted in our weekly "What You're Saying" post with prizes like a Mad Men poster or a Mad Men Zippo (limit one per person).

The forum was abuzz with comments about Don and his many affairs. TrudyIsAnnoying says the cheating is "boring! Now if Don were to stay faithful to Betty, that would be interesting. Because then it could be Betty's turn." madwoman80 thinks the show was "'coma'-tized when Don was attempting faithfulness. But, as a woman once 'burned' it was kind of nice to see him try. I love Don either way-conflicts and all." Whatever the reason for his cheating, silverminx asks, "Can a guy like this ever find what he's looking for? The only bright light I can see for him is his love for his kids."

Mad Men fans who know riding were also up-in-arms that Betty's scenes on horseback aren't accurate for the period. "As a rider myself, it drives me crazy that all the tack the horses wear is completely incorrect for the 1960's - it's all modern!" exclaims Nelliebelle. tnoel concurs, noting Betty's Lycra breeches: "Geez, all they'd have to do is look at some snaps of Jackie O foxhunting back then and you can see those fabulous, billowing-thigh, button-calf twill things we all wore." Betsy objects to the way January Jones rides: "What drives me absolutely bonkers is that Betty's riding skills are really pretty bad. Her hands are all wrong. She holds her hands out flat 'piano hands' and not up like she should."
