Jon Hamm Is an EW Entertainer of the Year and a GQ Man of the Year
Entertainment Weekly has named Jon Hamm one of its "Entertainers of the Year," number nineteen out of twenty-five on a list headed by Robert Downey Jr. and Tina Fey. (He's lauded for his comedic talents as well as the "intensity he brings to Don Draper.") Hamm is also one of GQ's Men of the Year, in the company of luminaries like Barack Obama, Michael Phelps and Leonardo DiCaprio. The magazine delved into his background, including the influence of his St. Louis high school, "where one could be both a middle linebacker and the lead in Godspell without being compelled to beat oneself up."
As for Mad Men, GQ says "it's about a generation caught between shifting tectonic plates of history," prompting Hamm to note, "It will be interesting, if we keep going, to see how Don deals with that, where he falls in the balance of power. Because if Don is one thing, it's adaptable. He knows how to read a room."
Vogue's December issue features Hamm in its "Man of the Hour" story and photographs him for a spread alongside model Catherine McNeil. Matthew Weiner is quoted saying he cast Hamm because "Jon felt like a whole human being. He was the kind of actor that had gone out of style, he has this masculinity. He can be really funny, but he can also sit there without talking and still make a statement."

"if we keep going"????? IF - IF???? I'm hoping for 10 seasons of this... at least.
FWIW -
M Weiner has said the series will be only five seasons. Which, of course, is still three years away.
But a big WOO-HOO for Jon.
Jon Hamm should have been #1, on ALL of the lists and on the cover of "Sexiest Man Alive", as far as I'm concerned. As you can tell, I absolutely love love love him. Jennifer (his long time lady is so unbelievably lucky). Also, WHAT RANGE he displayed on SNL. That Halloween "Vincent Price" titled special was phenomenal to say the least. He blew me away. Not that I ever want to imagine life without "Mad Men", but he has a very long career ahead of him. I love you Jon!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow the pic above of Jon in the white dinner jacket puts all the pics of Sean Connery (in his prime as "007") to shame!
Wow is putting it mildly. Pant Pant....sigh
That pic needs to be made into a poster...a companion to a poster of January shooting those pidgeons---sold as a set of 2 entitled "Jon and Jan"
I'd buy it!!!!
I know everyone will but be SURE to check out all those links above to GQ, Entertainment Weekly and Vogue...hot hot hot does not begin to describe it all.
That man is just impossibly beautiful...how can anyone BE that gorgeous? Wowee, zowee, kapowee...I just can't believe that man...like one of the articles stated "how can a man this handsome hide in Hollywood for a decade?"
I for one am just glad he didn't become a pro ball player!!!! Lucky for us.
I wish there were Jan and Jon paper dolls.
I love this show I need to know when it is coming back on. Haven't heard anything in the past few weeks.
Everyone have a great Thanksgiving.
