Mad Men, Hamm and Moss Are Golden Globe Favorites, the LA Times Says

Let the handicapping for the Golden Globes begin. Ahead of the Dec. 11 nominations (and the Jan. 11 awards), the Los Angeles Times names Mad Men as a favorite in several categories, including the two categories it won last year: Best TV Drama (AMC's Breaking Bad is also on the list) and Best Actor in a TV Drama (Jon Hamm). Elisabeth Moss also gets a nod in the Best Actress in a TV Drama category.

TV Guide has a list too, of its favorite opening title sequences. Already parodied on a recent episode of The Simpsons, Mad Men comes in at No. 4 (behind True Blood, Dexter and The Simpsons). "A silhouetted, suited figure in free fall? A black-and-white man plummeting past colorful, seductive ads into a...cozy seat and a smoke? Oh, the symbolism is tight with this one, and so are the strings of RJD2's retro chill tune 'A Beautiful Mine.' Don Draper would be so proud," the magazine says.

And Entertainment Weekly features the drama on its list of the "25 Sexiest TV Shows on DVD" -- "The best part of 'Long Weekend' is the afterglow: Naked, lying on her [Rachel Menken's] tufted satin sofa, he [Don Draper] confesses childhood secrets as she lights a cigarette and runs her fingers through his hair."

hmmm I thought January Jones was nominated for Best Actress -- as nice as it would be for Ms. Moss to also be nominated.
