Talk Forum - What You're Saying

Throughout Mad Men Season 2, AMCtv.com will award Talk forum commenters quoted in our weekly "What You're Saying" post with prizes like a Mad Men pen or a Mad Men poster (limit one per person). Keep commenting, and you may be one of next week's lucky recipients.

Commenters this week were talking about Freddy's departure from Sterling Cooper. "The Freddy situation was so sad," said midcenturymod. "Remember when he played Mozart on his zipper? That was so inappropriate that you had wonder how much longer he would be there." Roger's comments about Freddy's service during the war had mcmere thinking, "A lot of men, post WWII, judged other men by what they did in the war. 1945, to these guys, is 17 years ago. Like 1991 is to us. Doesn't seem very long ago to me." Freddy's alcoholic lapse had Martini Up wondering "if Duck ever wet himself before a client presentation during his days of drinking. My bet is that he was so disgusted by his own past behavior that he's unleashing it all on Freddy."

The Talk forum was gossiping about Roger's abrupt decision to leave his wife for Don's secretary. "I did not expect Roger to leave his wife for Jane," said mhcgrl. "I believe that Don is genuinely disgusted by Roger's behavior." Chopin47 wasn't amused: "I liked it better when Roger was funny. He's going to have another coronary with Jane the gold digger." Blondeambition was more forgiving: "It looks like Roger has finally fallen in love. Even 'Miss Holloway' wasn't enough for him to leave his wife, but Jane must be some thing special."

Does anyone know who make the handbag Betty has hooked over her right arm when she's at the stables fixing the guy who has a crush on her up for a lunch date with her friend? Thanks....

I love Madmen, but I'm afraid it is turning into just another Soap. hope not.

Wow--I feel like I've won my own kind of Emmy (they really should have a category for blogging). I will cherish my pen always....

You know the pen actually looks more like an ice pick in the photo (which would be so appropriate for the bar most maddicts secretly desire to set up in their offices....)

We love Mad Men, and became a huge fans in season one.
UnfortunateIy in season two my interest in the show is slowly fading as we see less of Don Draper.
His character changing from the character we were intrigued with in season one.
Hopefully they will bring the season one Don back and more of him (please) - especially taking into consideration the success of season one - I must not be the only one :)
