Throughout Mad Men Season 2, AMCtv.com will award Talk forum commenters quoted in our weekly "What You're Saying" post with prizes like a Mad Men pen or a Mad Men poster (limit one per person). Keep commenting on the forum, and you may be one of next week's lucky recipients.

The Talk forum this week decried the goings-on in Sterling Cooper's newly minted television department. "Harry seriously disappointed me," said eternal_llama. "Just when I thought he was cool, he basically uses Joan and then tosses her aside." NancyStowOH had a different perspective: "Harry is not a schmuck -- that's how it was always done. The secretary filled in, then someone was hired in and she was expected to teach him then go back to her little desk and type with a smile on her face." Looking forward, however, gobarack had an optimistic outlook: "I predict the clients will object to the new script person and will insist on the person being Joan."

Meanwhile Betty's actions towards Don had some on the forum cheering: "Good for Betty for finally confronting Don," said Pete's blue pajamas. "That poor chair took the brunt of her frustration, though. She should do cage matches." Jeri18 also offered Betty kudos: "When Don looked Betty in the eyes and swore nothing happened I thought 'I wouldn't want to play poker with this guy,'" the post said. "But I'd have to call Betty the champion poker player to call the bluff." Still others wondered what Don would do after Betty told him not to come home: "He should cut her loose, get an apartment in the city, cut the alimony check every month, and chase all the tail he wants," opined andydenver.

Like John Hamm, I grew up in St. Louis. My dad was a Monsanto executive in the 50s and 60s and Mad Men really captures the office environment, attitudes, behaviors (although Monsanto was never as decadent as Sterling Cooper), and lifestyles of business people from that era. Likewise, the music sounds like it came off the old LPs that my parents used to play on our hi-fi (I've still got them and put some to use on an eclectic radio show I occasionally guest host). Keep up the great work - the industry awards that the show has received are well-deserved. PS, I'm always availble to serve as a story consultant - I work cheap!
