Talk Forum - What You're Saying

Throughout the run of the second season of Mad Men, AMCtv.com will be awarding forum commenters quoted in our weekly "What You're Saying" post with prizes ranging from Mad Men mugs, posters, hats and pens (limit one per person). Keep commenting on the Talk forum, and you may be one of next week's lucky recipients.

The Talk forum this week reeled from second episode's revelation about Peggy's baby. "I was shocked, shocked, S-H-O-C-K-E-D," said PeggySue. "Adoption really was the norm back then for illegitimate babies; I'm guessing it was her family who made the decision to keep the baby."

The news of Pete's tragedy was discussed with equal excitement: "I thought Pete's reaction to his father's death was inspired," said rl1856. "While he was obviously in a state of shock, you could also see that he did not feel anything and the lack of an emotional response to the tragedy was almost as shocking to him as the actual facts." DickWhitman however, said "I absolutely understood his reaction, which is a credit to the subtlety and nuance of Vincent's acting. I could feel his shock and cluelessness over how to react."

Log onto the Talk forum to join in these conversations and to discuss Sunday's all-new episode, or to start a Mad Men topic of your own.

"Fill whiskey to this line." Okay, now that's one great "coffee" mug!

You know what? I think rl1856 and Dick Whitman won also...do you all (AMC) just mail the pre-chosen prizes out or do they get to pick from the mugs posters, hats or pen? Just curious for future reference....

What the heck is going on with that guy at the stable? Is he supposed to be appealing? Were they serious when they compared him to Montgomery Clift?

The dialogue between him and Mrs. Draper in the barn was completely unconvincing. Worst scene since the war scene last season.

On the positive side, Don taking a handful of dish washing soap after his quickie was inspired.
