One Serious Fan - The Michael Kors Party (and Giveaway)

Not only is his 2008 Runway collection partly inspired by Mad Men, fashion designer Michael Kors hosted a private party to kick off the show's Season 2. "I just want to celebrate the show. It's so rare to see television that's both seriously smart and seriously stylish," he told Style.com.

Guests at his June 22 party sipped martinis, nibbled on retro-inspired hors d'oeuvres and hung out with series star Jon Hamm before enjoying a sneak peek of the show. "Well, you know fashion people; we always want to see things first," joked Kors.

Joining in the festivities with the Project Runway host were Sex and the City's leading man, Chris Noth, along with fashion industry insiders including Amanda Ross, Joe Zee, Joanna Coles, Jim Moore, Andre Leon Talley, and Meredith Melling.

As if throwing the party weren't enough, Kors is also sharing his love for Mad Men with his customers via a promotional deal on his website until August 22 or while supplies last. Those that spend $350 or more at MichaelKors.com will receive a DVD Box Set of the first season as a special gift. Now that's what we call a real fan.

I love Michael Kors' perfume...gardenias and ? Anyway it smells great. Kinda reminds me of the old "Jungle Gardenia" only better. Thanks, Michael! Oh, and the suede slipcase is a nice touch.

I love the fashion too! My picture to the left here is me in vintage Mad Men dress. I'm in the Benefactor Episode 3 this weekend. Watch for me! It was a thrill to do. Also, see my video in the contest as Peggy (Editor's Pick) and vote for me. Some of the fans on this site I've been blogging with are very intesting abd looove the show. I have invited them to an emmy party I'm having in Beverly Hills. They can't afford it. Don't you think you could fly them in??? That would be so great! I love your clothes and wear them on sets all the time. What a thrill to contact you!

Hey Nora, you actually did it! I hope he takes you up on the idea--hope she doesn't show up and put the wet blanket on your party!) I think if you go to MichaelKors.com it will have a better chance of getting in front of his eyes. Who knows? I think it would be so cool if he actually does it! Good Luck!
