I love this show! 2 questions-
What attracts Pete to Peggy? I am curious as to what it is about her that catches his eye since she seems to the opposite of what his "type" would be ( not wealthy or well dressed, socially connected, etc.)
THere are some elements of this show that remind me of another one of my favorites shows- thirtysomething. (handsome ad man's rise and fall, dealing with spouse issues and co-workers jealousies, enigmatic boss figure) Did you drawn any of your inspirations from this show by chance?
I’d like clarification on Don Draper’s age, and the Dick Whitman/Adam timeline. If Draper is 36 in 1960, (or even in 1962), why didn’t he serve in World War II, instead of Korea? Why did he wait until he was well into his 20s to leave home, if it was a place he didn’t want to be?
Mr. Weiner you and everyone connected with Mad Men are so deserving of every accolade you've received because it is the best show to come along in the history of television. Congratulations. Just curious...do you ever read these message boards? They are so interesting and lively and full of insight that they might even be considered a treasure chest of ideas for future episodes...and have you looked at the entries for the walk on part contest? Thanks.
The story of Don Draper as the central character is fantastic. Will there be an episode on Betty's backstory pre-marriage or their courtship? Betty briefly outlined the details, but it'd be nice the see how they interacted, why Betty acts the way she does toward him in their marriage now or just to show a comparison from the early marriage to their marriage of 1962.
you probably get this a lot, or maybe not, how did you come up with this whole idea of mad men?where you just sitting their one day like all great ideas happen, or was it somthing else? it will perhaps help me over come my writers block, so please comment and or answer my question, and if you don't I understand. I just started watching madmen, it's great, keep up the good work.
Whatever became of Mrs. Lyman? Pete Campbell and his wife? Did Mrs. Lyman get into the social circles of Pete? It was nice to see an older woman with such talent. When will we see her again?
Thanks.
