As I'm going back over some of the episodes again, I keep coming back to Babylon and Don's beatnik mistress. On the surface, it seems odd that he would gravitate to someone like her, but for some reason, it really makes sense. A really smart move by the writers. I hope she's back for more in season two. I don't know why, but I imagine her playing a role in Don's downfall, should that ever happen.
