In Rolling Stone's summer cable TV preview section Mad Men's creator and Executive Producer Matthew Weiner revealed that the second season of Mad Men will pick up in 1962 rather than continuing from where Season 1 left off on Thanksgiving of 1960. Weiner explained, "I wanted to show what it was like to have the world change around you, you watch life pass and you're the same person inside."
