About Jared: "This pretty much sums it up. No frills. Raw. Unedited. Just me. Telling a tiny snippet of one hell of a story."

not obscured by production, jared's performance was original, nuanced, evoking the feeling of menace in his audience. an excellent and unique audition.
I'm surprised something so, so simple made it to the finalists Good disciplines, but there were others with a little more heart that were equally simple and didn't make. Though o.k. not a win.
Nora. I saw your video. Perhaps you should try a different career...and some medication for your anger and hostility. Glad you're not in the Top 18.
mcremer,
Perhaps you should concentrate on yourself and not on me. Maybe you would have achieved something better in life instead of worrying about others. My comments were not directed towards you. And I'll take your comments and do consider a different career.
But . . . Nora, you're concentrating on others with every post you make here. So your criticism of mcremer makes no sense . . .
Still my favorite performance! Yes, it is spartan in its production, but that works so well for this character depiction! As I said before, I love that Jared doesn't portray Pete as another snobby, spoiled private school grad. He's played as ambitious and possibly without conscience, like Camus's character Meursault from The Stranger. The plain white background emphasizes both the clarity of this performance and the existential nature of this character. Great job, Jared! I hope you win!
Jared's understated performance resonates simpicity, clarity and individuality. Well done and bon chance.
I liked the audition. Simple and direct with a touch of irony .
PS.....Nora it is OK to take your ball and leave the playing field. No participation trophy for you. That is life!
I like the simplicity of it.
Jared, this was well done. Good luck to you.
This guy is my kind of actor: fearless and inventive.
You go on with your bad self Jared David! You don't need any fluff or fancy editing to have your talent carry through. Good job and best of luck my friend!
Also, shout out to you from everyone in Butler and Pittsburgh! We're rooting for you!
Mad Men is the best show on TV right now and I think Jared’s interpretation is right on. What a great spin. Not passive aggressive like Pete…….just aggressive.
Simple, yes, and also elegant, portrayal of Pete! It takes real talent to speak the truth about your character without the help of props and scenery. I am an avid fan of Mad Men; this actor showed me something new: pain and vulnerability. Bravo!
This guy is my kind of actor: Fearless and inventive.
I could DEFINITELY see you on this show, Jared! Good luck!
FYI, cowardly and shameful Nora Paradiso is now going by the name "justwondering" with a new photo.
This “contest” was like something Pete Campbell would have contrived, straight out of a Mad Men script. Its only purpose was to serve its host (AMC TV) at the expense of most of those involved. This was not a contest that was based on talent, creativity, originality or quality in any way. It was a shameless MARKETING CONTEST and should have been advertised as such.
The majority of the finalists in the “contest” are there for one reason only; they are networked to hundreds of people who cast votes for them based solely on relationship. It was obvious and everyone knows it. If these people had submitted videos of a dog taking a dump in the park, they still would have gotten their 400 to 1000 votes from their connections/networks.
A lot of the show’s fans and supporters who worked hard to produce quality submissions never stood a chance in this “contest”. I think I can see where the inspiration for the characters on the show comes from. Don Draper may not have slept with any of the “contest” entrants’ wives, but a lot of talented people got screwed. But congratulations AMC; you got your webpage hits. Mission accomplished. SHAME ON YOU!
nice work, jared. good luck!
Great video, Jared! Good luck to you!
Jared nailed Pete Campbell. I mean, he had to be channeling the guy or something. Sure it's short and no frills but a dead on portrayal!
