Colin - You're obviously very talented, but did you ask yourself if maybe there was more to this monologue than just being suave? Don Draper isn't just about the whiskey and the cigarettes. Speaking of which, you should really learn to smoke more convincingly. ;-)

I like that he made it interesting while keeping it simple. Instead of just doing something random and "creative" with it he just relied on his acting. No offense to everyone else who got creative, but the lines are good enough on their own, ya know?

Anyway, that's my opinion...

I think "creative" is ok, who wants to watch the same monologue done the same plain way over and over again, but as far as doing it "straight" I agree that this guy does it exceptionally good.

We are already big fans of the show anyway... but I think this video has super acting although the technical quality might have been better but good acting and what my wife just called some tasty eye candy goes a long way to remedy that. Thats why we are voting for this fellow.

Best job by far. I don't agree with the comment that this is not a "creative" video. I think it is sufficiently "creative" that he created a completely different Don Draper, made him his own, and gave a fine, believable performance.

He's not an editors pick because its not strange or ironic or unexpected in any way. It doesn't stand out. This isn't an audition for a new charatcter, this is a contest for a walk on role. They don'thave to worry about if the person who wins can really act or not.

Thanks for the kind words everybody! And those of you coming to my defense against not being picked by the editors: if you read the contest guidelines, you'll see the videos are being judged on "originality and/or compelling nature of video content" and "quality of final product."

Now, I put a lot of effort into my performance, and I'm proud of how it turned out, but the quality of the video overall is admittedly nothing special. I didn't add any music or effects, and there aren't multiple cuts - it's just me, sitting in a swivel chair, speaking into a severely outdated digital camera set to video mode held by my zero-camera-work-experience girlfriend. And let's face it; there's nothing too original about that.

Anyway, it was a helluvalot of fun to film, especially since that's real whiskey I'm drinking and by the last few takes I was wasted! Maybe I should have uploaded one of those...

Oh, and "littlered" - no, I've never been in 2 1/2 Men or any other TV show or movie, but I get that a lot. I guess I just have one of those faces. I wonder if that works for or against a struggling actor...?

I like how he makes these little quirky facial expressions like he knows something I don't and it's about me. He is very smooth and yes Tyran, he is hot but I like the beard better.
