I thought it was really nice. Seemed a little rushed in some spots and not fully connected. Otherwise, nice job all around.

This is great. Your pacing is very good, especially considering how long the monologue actually ran in the show.

Nice touch with the wardrobe and setting as well!

Given the time restraints, I really like the pacing. The line reading is also much more nuanced than most on here. Great job.

Um. It's well shot, well acted, but doesn't seem very original. Seems like an exact replica of the scene from the show.

wow...lot of votes for a day..must have tons of friends or a fast typist....

default userpic

I thought the point of this was to replicate the scene?
Either way, it was shot beautifully and her acting was great, especially considering it had to be only a minute long. wonderful job!

default userpic

Wow, those friends must all be voting. I think amc is awarding originality not how close you can mimic the scene that was already shot. But, it's not bad.

Yeah, I agree. It looks really great, but it's pretty much exactly like the show. She seemed a little stiff at times, but she's got a good look for it.

I believe the actress did an excellent job with the little amount of time given. She was believable and the camera work looked professional. All in all, a GREAT job.

great acting. subtle, but conveying that there's a lot of emotion and power underneath the bland exterior.

great job on the video, too!

Looks nice!

The production and professionalism of this piece was pretty good. The acting however, was just okay.

I thought with the amount of time given, Rebecca did a great job, she looks good and sold me.

default userpic

uhhh guys? That's a LOT of votes in a really short time. No offense...but it's not exactly an earth-shattering entry. It's good...but not THAT good. The whole thing just seems fishy to me.

I hesitated writing something, but I am glad someone else noticed how there are an unusual number of votes here. Others who have been on longer don't have anywhere near that, and this video has been on barely 2 days. Maybe this person should realize that someone doesn't win just for number of votes. It has to be good, too, and sorry to say there are many more that are much better.

yeah...Facebook and Myspace must have been put to good use. It's really pretty and all but what are all these posts about "time constraints." This is television people--it's all about "time constraints." Plus everyone else seems to be able to do it under a minute-- I don't see that as being the most challenging thing in this competition.

I think Rebecca did a great job. This video kept me captivated. Great work!

I still think Justin should win...if the winner is chosen based on humor as well as creativity, I still think he's got it sewn up. Plus, I like his beard...! :-) Go Justin Z.!

default userpic

I didn't mean that to diss Rebecca, I just think humor is as good as anything to judge on. But, she was creative and her video had a polished look, I will say.

default userpic

Oh...I forgot...dig those June Cleaver/Donna Reed pearls!!! Very "60's" !

I wish Rebecca well in her acting career but honestly this was not compelling to watch. She ripped off the talented January's rendition unabashedly and added nothing of her own soul to the piece.

default userpic

So she ripped off the talented January (without abash, no less) and yet was not compelling to watch.

I could be wrong - likely am wrong, since I am a fictional drunk - but might that not mean that January's (bash-ed) rendition was similarly "non-compelling"...since Rebecca's copy was so off-ripped?

Roger Wade disagrees, Giggity-Quagmire-Girl, on both accounts, and pours himself another.

Cheers to January and Rebecca both. May they face one another someday soon from across the battle line that stretches interminable between friendship and jealously.

That's right. Rebecca should walk-on as Donny Boy's new mistress. This loyal husband stuff can't hold up so long as Betty makes googly eyes at mechanics in exchange for free fan belts.

And as to the alleged lack of soul in this piece...where do you think an actor goes reaching when "go-time comes along"...into their toenails?

Something that I think so many "well-intentioned" comment-droppers are missing here is the fact that the monologues were written to be performed the way they were performed in the show.

Creative interpretations are wonderful and the ones of quality should be recognized - but creativity for the sake of it, or worse, for the sake of novelty...is worth a few gimmicky moments of distraction at best.

Though it is interesting to discover how many here seem to know exactly what AMC is looking for in their winning video. Amazing how much people know about everything these days.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I hear my boat coming.

People can complain all they want about how votes are gotten. But let's be realistic here. This contest is ENTIRELY and exclusively a marketing tool. The goal is webpage hits for the purpose of promoting the show. AMC wants people who have a lot of friends/contacts to enter and then spread the word.
