Borefest
Every year i look forward to the week of horror films on AMC. I'm not gonna go off on a rant cause it has pretty much been said in another post , but this years films were lame. It seemed like every time i turned to the channel it was the same film from the night before...i.e "house on hanuted hill", or it's lame sequel. I am curious as to why they dont mix up the films..i mean you have stuff on at 2-3-4am that would be a change from the same old repeated films from the night or day before. I'd take a "Halloween 3" before another tired showing of parts 4-5, and wheres "Halloween 2"...again missing from the line up. Last but not least...enough with the ads at the bottom left of the screen telling everyone that MADMEN is on...ok, we get it...we dont need it shoved down our faces after every commercial break.

I wasn't planning on watching much of Fearfest, but I did anyway. Not because they showed the greatest movies,i just wanted to have some horror playing on the tv at all times. I did sit and watch a lot of the movies too. A big problem for me was that they had way too many repeats. It seemed that they played "Thirteen Ghosts" about 10 times. Once is even too many times to show it. Another problem was that on Sunday night they interrupted the marathon to show Mad Men and "Breaking Bad". It wouldn't kill them to take a break from them for one week. I did like that they showed a couple of movies I haven't seen in forever, "Blood of Dracula" and "The She-Creature". Now if they would have showed a few more of those would have been great. I will have to say I was disappointed in this Fearfest overall and that there is plenty of room for improvement for next year.
I'm not going to say that AMC hit a home run with this year's fearfest. However, it was a bit better than last year. 2008's fearfest was the bane of my existence. I think AMC put a little more effort into this year's lineup. Maybe we'll get better offerings in 2010. Fingers crossed.
