MonsterFest 2000 was AMC's "best foot 4wrd." First, AMC still hadn't sold their soul to the advertisement agencies and were still showing movies without commercial interruption. Thank goodness Turner Classics hasn't done that! Secondly, AMC was still committed to the "true" horror classics of the 30's, 40's and 50's. Also, AMC use to have the neatest webpage designs for MonsterFest, with a lot more interactive programs for users. They were much more visually appealing. Now, the website is rather boring. AMC has gone down the tubes...
Wow! That lineup makes me drool. I would even settle for Monsterfest in 2006 with Invisible Man, etc.
Sigh, memories!
Now thats what I call a line up for Halloween, why are not many old movies this year? It just the same movies over and over. Where is dracula?
Who knows what Dracula is doing. He is probably cringing in his coffin at the thought of this Fearfest. They did have the 1979 version of Dracula on yesterday though. They need to show the original! I think I'll go pop "Phantasm" into the DVD player.
I remember that lineup, what I didn't see "live" I recorded.
I also remember the interactive website.
Perhaps AMC should take a clue form the past (2000) and return to it as that set the std which unfortunately has proven hard to maintain.....
