Naturally, I have to ask, where did you get this little bit of info?

Saw the press release announcing the dates for FearFest '09, but unlike past years there was no word on films playing during the marathon.

Something tells me the films playing this year will be a repeat of last years terrible schedule. But, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. That whole thing AMC did last year with Rob Zombie was a good idea, just with the wrong person. Zombie came off as someone who really didn't give a s**t about being there. Eh, kinda like how he treated his two versions of Halloween.

So, we're looking at about the same amount of time as last year? Not surprising, but unfortunate. You can probably predict some movies they'll play by their fear friday lineup which has been pretty much garbage.

Last year, Halloween day was a huge disappointment regarding the movies that were shown throughout the afternnon and in the evening. If I recall correctly, the Halloween series wasn't shown duing the afternoon/evening. My hope is that they have as many Halloween movies as possible throughout the 31st.

I'm in full agreement that the line up will probably be lame again this year. Fear Fridays have been a joke (when its shown) so hopefully amc will try harder for this. I miss the good ol' days before amc became a HBO type station. to many mini series not enough movies. i think they should just make every weekend in october a horror movie fest. from 8 pm friday to 10 pm sunday. that way we can be spared a week of the sorry/predictable prime time movies that always occur during fear fest.

I was pretty bummed about last year's schedule. I'm basically buyng DVDs for my own Monsterfest. I will check AMC, but I doubt they will have anything different than the usual trash they show. And I'm sure Mad Men will be on during FearFest. Sigh

I know everyone seems disapointed with past Monsterfest/Fearfest picks, but at least AMC is doing a horror marathon. Not to many other channels do that, maybe Sy Fy, and TCM. But AMC has 9 days of it, so you have to give them some credit. I enjoy alot of the vintage 1950-1970 horror films, but they tend to come on late at night (That's when the DVR comes in handy). I'm still dedicated to Fearfest. I actually take my vacation during that time, and it runs until my favorite holiday....................................HALLOWEEN! also Halloween 3 and The Exorcist 3 Rule!

As I am reading these, it seems, AMC; that most to all people, your paying cable viewers love Monster Fest/Horror Fest, and request 13-Days, better movie picks, and those classic Universal Monsters!!!!! If you do air these classics, can you please show them at a decent hour??? THX!

From what I've seen, The line up should be out by Monday of next week as they have their lineup listed until October 23rd and they cut off before primetime scheduling which I imagine is the beginning of Fear Fest. Of course there probably is another source or press release. Here's to hoping they don;t screw us again with awesome classics like Constantine and Pinata Island or whatever that crappy film is named.

The lineup is particially up! They now have from Friday through Sunday afternoon, and so far it looks like all of the Alien movies will be shown quite a bit. Very happy that the Shining will be on!

So far no Pinata Island or Constantine thank goodness!!!

For anyone who is interested, they have the schedule up to October 28th as of today. Fear Fest looks pretty weak at this point.

MadSopher, no Constantine, but Pinata: Survival Island is BACK!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!

From what I see, it looks like same old same old. There are NUMEROUS films to be had, and AMC plays the same old stuff. John Carpenter's "Halloween" is to Halloween as "A Christmas Story" is to Christmas....it will be played somewhere. But where are the other Halloween "treats"? Look, I love the Universal classic films as well as the next guy, but they are played a lot, although I would love to see ALL the old Mummy films. And what about director Jess Franco or actor Paul Naschy's films? NOBODY plays those. MonsterFest was great back in the day, but changing it to FearFest has diminished the annual event dramatically. I hope the folks in programming read these blogs, maybe SOMEONE will get a clue.
