HALLOWEEN DAY!

After viewing the MONSTERFEST movies schedule, I was completely shocked that on Halloween day, after 3:30 pm, AMC is going to show some crappy-ass movies, up until the early hours of Nov 1st. I usually watch AMC on Halloween nite, while I pass out candy, with some friends, but now, this is going to be the first Halloween in ages, that I will not be watching AMC come Halloween nite. Halloween Nite should go out with a bang, not with Resident Evil or Constantine. Better Luck Next Year, AMC!!!

Bravo AMC!!!

Think of the perfect Monsterfest movies... Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, American Werewolf in London, Dracula, Bride of Frankenstein....and then all of a sudden, Mad Men and Breaking Bad comes on. Yes, Mad Men and Breaking Bad has been added to the Monsterfest line-up. HORRIBLE!!! Couldn't AMC allow one week of not airing those shows in respect of MonsterFest???

Horror Hacker?

Is this some sick joke? Do my eyes really see the words Horror and Hacker, accompanied by AMC and blog? And then absolutely no explanation to be found in the blog section on the sudden, out of the blue name change. What's next... manditory username changes to all of us? Ooh, ooh, I got dibs on SawFanSheep.

This is getting way out of hand now. I demand an explanation.... or at least a trendy keychain. AMC's Horror Hacker Blog? WTF!? Unless you can go back through and hack crappy remakes to make them better, then... whatever... I'm done. Hahaha.

Monsterfest

I have absolutely no idea about anyone else right now but I would really like to know what is going on with Monsterfest. I love monsterfest and have been watching it for a while now, but all of the talk of it being for only one week or being shortened or whatever has been confusing me. During October my FAVORITE thing to do is come home from school, relax and wait for the movies to play. I'm very anxious for this year so I hope that someone wil fill me in on this.

Monsterfest 2008....

I'm a massive Halloween fan, basically as soon as.......Nov. 1st I'm already looking forward 100% to next Halloween. Other than the few Christmas movies I'll watch, i.e. A Christmas Story marathon on TBS I'm horror year round. And all a movie has to do for me to love it is be based on, or around Halloween. I've been reading the posts dogging MonsterFest/AMC FearFest and Fear Friday.

Disappointed Fan

Halloween is my favorite time of the year and the one thing I love more than anything - watching scary movies in the dark. My friends and I take the day off from school JUST TO SIT and watch monster fest and have a little party all day. I'm so disappointed. I miss the days when there was a scary movie everyday of the month. What happened, AMC?? I demand retribution!!!!

Does AMC understand horror movies?

I look forward to Monster Fest every year and appreciate Nick posting the list of movies AMC is going to broadcast but what are they thinking? Average as it was how did Halloween 2 miss the cut but 6 got on there? How do you have Omen 2&3 but not 1? Of all the Friday the 13th's to pick they want Jason Goes to Hell? Wheres the original Psycho? Amityville Horror? Poltergeist? The Serpant and the Rainbow? The Exorcist? Texas Chainsaw Massecre? Reading these postings, I don't think that I am as versed in the genre as most of you, but I know that anything titled Fearfest, isn't going to be respected featuring movies like 'Return to the House on Haunted Hill'.

Monsterfest is dead. Boycott AMC FearFest.

I could not agree more with most everyone in here.

I've watched Monsterfest for more years than I can remember.
One year they even had Roger Corman as the host.
Monsterfest use to be on each night the entire month of October and then on 24hrs the last week.
Now all we get it 1 week.
Every year it was a treat to see classic (B&W) horror movies, Vincent Price, The Exorcist...
But over the past 3 years it has gone from tolerable to unwatchable.
It's bad enough that Halloween 4/5 and Piñata Survival Island are shown almost every Fear Friday, that now they are going to be played over and over on Monster....I mean FearFest.

At this point I say enough is enough with poor programming.
If enough people simply don't watch Monster/FearFest, they'll either drop it from their yearly line-up, or do the right thing and start listening to consumer's suggestions.
Follow the money...Advertisers pay AMC for use of their channel to sell products. The value of the air-time is partly determined by ratings. If ratings are down, AMC can't charge as much for air-time, and thus earns less profit.

How about LameFest

I look forward each year to the halloween season which usually revolves around blowing-off work for MonsterFest. It's a shame to see this event continually erode. You need something fresh - hell, let me host it at least. I would like to see a tribute to Hammers Studios or individual achievments and focus on actors (Peter Cushing, Chris Lee) mixed in the event. And enough of the cheesey Michael Myers 4, 5 and 6. Would love to sit-down and start planning (resurrecting from the dead) this event for 2009

Which 39 movies would you have picked for Monster Fest, now called AMC FearFest?

OK, reviewing the 2008 Fear Fest Horror list for our 8-Day total? Nice that AMC tossed us a bone? (Yes I am trying to be nice Deb, but as far as kids they should stick with 13-Days on The Disney Channel and the Family Channel, and leave AMC to the big kids!
Here are my thoughts on this list. If I would have created this list yes I to would have had considered all our viewer pools and take all in consideration of picks. Such as, looked at the most picked, requested movies then decided and of course to be fair mixed it up a bit.

Lets start with which movies I would have pulled. This is way to easy. Lets start with Bride of Chucky, The Bride of Frankenstein, Constantine, Curse of Frankenstein, Damien: Omen II, Frankenstein Meets Space Monster, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, House of Dracula, House of Frankenstein, Horror of Dracula, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, Magic, Omen III: The Final Conflict, Survival Island, Psycho (1998, Puppet Master, Resident Evil, Return to the House on Haunted Hill, Son of Dracula, Son of Frankenstein, The She-Creature, Tales from the Crypt: Bordello of Blood, and finally Willard.

This is 25 out of 38 movies I would have pulled form this list. Only to have them replaced with the following. Lets see if you agree? I am trying to be fair and make all happy. Ok here I go.

A Very Poor "Monster Fest", Oopps Correction, "AMC FearFest" line up 2008!

AMC AMC what were you thinking with this list? Now this proves you pay no attention to ANY of our Blogs! What happened to 13-Days? Now we only get eight? What the heck is this? You get one hit show; "Mad Men" and you forget your fans, which we made you so great and paved your way by word of mouth! Why bother having a Monster Fest Blog? It's a waste of time. I am so incredibly disappointed all around that I don't know where to start. Well let's start with Piñata Island. How many fans have complained and complained over this flick and yet you still air this crap movie. Then there is Psycho from 98, what the heck is this? Major slap in the face. The Constantine, speechless!! Where is Friday the 13th one and two? Jason Goes To Hell? Good Lord!? Where is the Omen, Carrie, and the true original Universal Monsters. (Which I know you would air at the wee hours of the morning so no one would watch!) We all gave you such a fair and respectable list of great classic chilling horror flicks that I can't believe your staff picked these? Do you not break down our Blog lists to the most requested? Is your staff 12?
I commend the AMC Monster Fest Bloggers for all their fabulous horror picks and thoughts. I have by word of mouth advised so many people to tune into 13-Days of future great Halloween horror and this is what we get??? DISAPOINTED I SAY!! Now how do I explain? AMC you are making me look bad!
Shame on you AMC for dissing your always-loyal fans!
Signed,
The Queen of Scream

Bring back The Universal Monsters by Popular Demand!

The majority of all your viewers are requesting the old Classic Universal Monsters! Not just the old but also the young viewers. This is in high demand this year and well deserved and long over due! I/we truly hope you can retain most of these classics starting with Dracula from 1931, to The Mummy also 1931, The Wolfman 1942, and of course Frankenstein from 1931. And to mention all the Sequels which followed after!
Each Blog has stated the return of The Universal Monsters! I do hope you AMC will apprecite this and fullfill your horror fans wishes
I know you would have a lot of very happy 2008 Horror Fest Ghouls!!!!
Thank YOU!

Dear AMC:

Just curious, are you reading all these Blogs?
The reason I ask is; most of your viewers are requesting the old Classic Universal Monsters! Not just the old but also the young! This is in high demand this year and well deserved and long over due! I/we truly hope you can purchase most of these classics starting with Dracula from 1931, to The Mummy also 1931, The Wolfman 1942, and of course Frankenstein from 1931. And to mention all the Sequels which followed after!
I know you would have a lot of very happy 2008 Horror Fest Ghouls!!!!
Thank YOU!

MonsterFEST should return from the dead!!!!!

The TRUE MonsterFEST died when the Friday The 13th movies took over. I am 26 years old and I assume you stopped playing The Mummy, WolfMan, and Frankenstein because you felt like I wouldn't watch, you were WRONG! I loved it the year that Linda Blair came on and did promos. I loved it when I could watch it with my dad and we could talk about it. Now all I get on AMC is Pinata Island? I am your target demographic and I think MonsterFEST is now a joke. Bring back the classics from the 20's-70's and leave the shlock and gore for all the other channels at Halloween. If anybody agrees, we should start complaining now and see if AMC even cares what we think. I challenge AMC to do an online poll, asking whether your audience prefers the classics (20's-70's horror) or the slashers (80's-present).
