Losers; SAW , Child's Play, Scream, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The rest I think people can live with and throw some black and white , giant monster films stuff in there too. And I think you got a great line up of movies.

default userpic

why..thanks. i agree with ya lol that'd be cool to throw in some black and white stuff aslong as its entertaining and not like TCM type boring movies lol
They should also throw in silence of the lambs, and se7en,when a stranger calls / calls back. And cape fear.. thats not really a horror movie but it is eerie.

Gotta go with the classics: The Shining, The Exorcist, Pet Sematary, Psycho, Nightmare on Elm Street, Poltergeist, Friday the 13th.

I haven't seen anything lately that scared me as much as those films did. Maybe I'm more jaded these days.

Double features like...
Andy Warhol's Frankenstein and Andy Warhol's Dracula
Ken Russell's Lair of the White Worm and Gothic
Brian De Palma's Dressed to Kill and Raising Cain
Gus van Sant's Psycho and Hitchcock's Psycho

I wanna see nightmare on elm street

"Halloween series of films (except part 3 & awful crap of rob zombie)"

I have trouble imagining AMC going through the trouble of taking Zombie's Halloween this season... so you won't have to worry about that. However, why in the fuck not part III? Easily one of the greatest entries in the series, Halloween III (next to the original) stays closest to the actual theme... HALLOWEEN. I think a movie in the franchise that represents the holiday the most has a very good fucking reason to stay in the lineup.

That being said, I would love to see;

Halloween's 1-5
Friday the 13th 1-8
A Nightmare on Elm Street 1-5
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (parts I and II)
Night of the Living, Dawn, and Day of the Dead

and a nice mix of some Italian giallo or Fulci-esque films would be fantastic.

Let's see red dragon huh? sounds good 2 me

default userpic

ahh, Red Dragon. The unwanted bastard stepchild of the Hannibal Lecter series -- thanks largely to the handiwork of master filmmaker Bret Ratner. Do yourself a favor: watch the original, Manhunter, instead. Same story, different actors, better flick.

Why are we seeing the same old tired movies on American Movie Classics. What happened to the old Universal Monsters and such? Now those are classics.

default userpic

They all look good to me - I grew up in Florida enjoying Saturday afternoon double feast of Creature Feature - love horror movies.

default userpic

Where is the Candyman series? It's as good a series as some of the other horror movies.

default userpic

I've actually never seen the Candyman series -- worth it?

default userpic

Oh good Lord is this an easy question.
You have to air and repeat the following from my list.
I am the official “Queen of Scream!”
1. The Exorcist 1 & 3 only
2. Halloween 1, 2, 3,6,7,and 8
3. Friday the 13th 1 & 2
4. Nightmare on Elm Street
5. The Omen 1, 2 & 3
6. Carrie
7. The Shinning
8. Psycho
9. Candyman
10. Night of the Living Dead
11. The Haunting from 1963
12. Burnt Offerings
13. Scream 1, 2 & 3
Lucky number 13!!!!!

Oh how could I forget the very best of them all? The horror movie classics, which started it all, which gave this genre the template for all great future horror classics.
The classic Universal Monsters!
With this can you please find it in your heart to start airing for Halloween only, Dracula, The Wolfman, and of course Frankenstein?
This new generation needs to see classics not the smut gore they are growing up with.
Thank you!

Hello Aliceinhorrorland,
I sure hope you meant the original “When A Stranger Calls”, and “Cape Fear”?
Especially the original, “When A Stranger Calls”. This classic, which no other network ever airs, is a hair on the back of your neck scare fest.

user-pic

Can we go more with the classics, such as The Bela Lugosi Dracula's, Lon Cheney Wolfman, and so forth? I would also like to see the original silent version of "Phantom" of the Opera". My all time favorite to see broadcast during MonsterFest is House of Wax...never seen the original with Vincent Price.

default userpic

They should air alot of old horror movies like Dracula with Bela Lougosi and The Wolfman and others that are not so well known. Even throw in a few bad ones like Plan 9 and whatnot. Also the original Psycho. Other than that, I'd like to see Scream (the first movie only, please no more Scream 2), Ed Wood, Frankenweinie, Vincent, Little Shop of Horrors (both versions would be good, but especially the Rick Moranis one), An American Werewolf in London, Ghostbusters 1 and 2, Stephen King's IT, the original Nightmare on Elm Street and perhaps Dream Warriors, The Lost Boys, Silver Bullet, Ginger Snaps, Ringu, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Others, The Sixth Sense. Gremlins 1 and 2, The Twilight Zone: The Movie, Darby O'Gill and The Little People (all I remember about this movie is the screaming Banshee), and some more movies that I haven't heard of before or are seldom seen on tv would be really nice.

I really don't want to see any Saws or other movies similar to that, or new trash like 'The Eye' or whatnot.

By the way I just saw the new Monsterfest site recently, the last time I was here it was very lame. I'm glad to see it's finally been improved! Keep up the good work.

Oh, I forgot two I really like – Beatlejuice and Arachnophobia. And how about Communion? I wouldn’t mind Willard (the re-make) either.

default userpic

I would like to see SCREAM 1
HALLOWEEN SERIES-PART3
THE SHINING
THE LOST BOYS
STEVEN KINGS IT
CARRIE
THE HAUNTING/ NEW
SILVER BULLET
THE AMITTYVILLE/OLD

if they would make it an entire month of films, they should split it up into theme days.

- all of the universal studios classics
- all of the godzilla and king kong films
- all of the ridiculous nuclear-monster movies from the 50s (i.e. them!)
- stephen king movies (carrie, cujo, the shining, IT, etc)
- killer doll movies (child's play, dolly dearest)
- nightmare on elm street series
- halloween series
- friday the 13th series
- vampire movies
- werewolf movies
- hitchcock films
- remakes
- alien/outer space films
- foreign horror films (argento, audition, etc)
- creepy kids movies (the omen, the exorcist, rosemary's baby)
- hellraiser series
- silence of the lambs series
- on halloween day, play the scariest films of all time

most of all, documentaries about horror films, and more original programs like Movies that Shook the World.

I agree a full month of Monsterfest would rock heres a list of what i would like to see.

-The Universal Studios Classics
- vampire movies(Lost Boys, Fright Night, The Brides of Dracula)
- werewolf movies(The Wolfman, American Werewolf in London / Paris)
-Godzilla flicks(the older ones r the best)
-original King Kong
-giant bug/monster movies from the 50s(Them, The Black Scorpion, The Giant Behemoth, The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms etc)
-Halloween flicks(in moderation plz )
-Roger Corman's The Phantom Eye (that made 4 monsterfest mini series)I really want to see that I missed it they could play it on Halloween night

I liked the documentary idea id like to see Attack of the 50 Foot Monster Mania again or that entertainment weekly special they showed with Bruce Cambel also i would like to see him host that would be sweet.

Somebody mention Burnt Offerings, well you'll have to also consider The Hearst, and The Changeling those types seem to be AMC style. Alice sweet Alice is another. I like the horror movies from the late 70's to early 80's Has anybody seen the movie The children. Another movie AMC needs to show is a sci fi called The Day of the Triffids. There is just so many horror and sci fi movies out there we can only hope that AMC will make this lineup the best. And have bought new/old movies for this year.

default userpic

Burnt Offerings what a chilling 70’s classic is this flick! I agree Deb 110%!
Come on Karen Black is she not creepy or what? How about Betty Davis and this great cast. Such an atmospheric movie too. I also like the original Haunting, and Legend of Hell House, and yes The Challenging is a classic too.
Nothing like a good old fashion ghost story to bring Halloween alive!

default userpic

Halloween series of films (except part 3 & awful crap of rob zombie) HALLOWEEN SERIES ROCKS

default userpic

I would of replaced The Crow with Twins of Evil and throw in Fright Night. I guess I'm in the minority because I can actually tolerate Halloween 3. I just think that movie should of been kept out of that franchise.

user-pic

I totally agree with some of ya! Where are the Universal Horrors?? Hammer Horrors??

How about Dracula, 1931. Frankensteins's Monster, The Bride of Frankenstein...we gotta pay homage to James Whale! Have ya seen Gods and Monsters???

Anything with Vincent Price!! I have to add that to the list!
