Hitchcock's Most Famous Murders
Psycho (1960)
The Murderer: Anthony Perkins as motel owner Norman Bates.
The Weapon: In one of the most famous murder scenes in cinematic history, Perkins kills Janet Leigh in the shower with a knife. Audiences at the time swore they saw knife pierce flesh and other gory details. But it was just Hitchcock's inventive editing, and perhaps that screeching score, that left this gruesome impression.
Psycho, Janet Leigh, 1960.
