Hear, hear! I wouldn't worry about it ;)
Out of curiosity, which are some of your favorites?
well my fave of all time is Butch Cassidy and The
Sundance Kid,but I dont think that classifies as a classic ....yet. I like Stagecoach, and Follow The River a lot. How about you ?
My knowledge of old westerns is sorely lacking, which is why I'm looking for recommendations. I've seen the Fistful of Dollars trilogy, but that's about it. What are some of the must-watches?
I'm not at all very informed about old westerns Clayton.I am happy just to sit and be entertained by them....much of it is tongue in cheek watching for me....the loop holes in the plot and shooting are sometimes hilarious....Butch C. and the Sundance K. is the only must see I can think of at the moment....that ones a masterpiece!
I just love western's on saturday's. But,why doesn't AMC have a war movie day like maybe sunday's?Because,I love war pictures too! Like Platoon,Force 10 From Naverome,Sands of Iwo Jima,Bataan.
I love the war movies too. My favorites? Starting with the Civil War we have Glory, an all-time classic. For World War I, I loved All Quiet on the Western Front. WWII? Gotta go with Saving Private Ryan, though I would switch that to Band of Brothers if it counted as a movie. In close second I might say Letters from Iwo Jima, which I just saw and thought was terrific. Vietnam ya gotta go Apocalypse Now, even though Platoon was excellent as well. I haven't seen a great Iraq movie, though Jarhead I thought had its moments.
I LOVE LOVE Westerns & Saturdays on AMC are my favorite days to watch TV. My favorites are John Wayne westerns & right now I'm watching the "Searchers", which is my most favorite John Wayne movie. NO ONE will ever take his place!!
I love almost all of them. I enjoy Randolph Scott, Audie Murphy, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and of course John Wayne. I'd take any of them over today's films.
Well, there's The Cowboys, The Man Who Shot
Liberty Valance, She Wore A Yellow Ribbon, Big
Jake, The War Wagon, The Son's Of Katie Elder...
Rio Bravo, El Dorado, The Searchers, The Alamo,
Young Guns - each of em, Tombstone, Guns Across The River, Rawhide, McClintock....oh
Just any of em. Just sit in front of the tube every week and enjoy. I it on while I'm cleanin the house and it usually depends whats on as to how clean my house gets! lol
