this is the GREATEST horror movie made in my generation.i saw this when i was 6. my dad raised me on horror flicks. seriously this movie gave me all kinds of issues as a kid! no like serious issues but silly stuff like being afraid of the station going off the air. ahhhhh poltergeist, you never fail to entertain. hey did you guys here about the poltergeist remake? sad but true and the director that are doing it have only made a girl movie from what i understand.....

I remember seeing this movie when it first came out when I sneaked in to see it after going to see Rocky III! I loved it as that young 11 year old, and I still love it now!

The Poltergeist movies (ALL THREE) are among my TOP favorite movies of all time. The whole cast is great. I still get sad about little Heather O'Rourke and what happened to her. And the older sister in Poltergeist, Dominique Dunne. So sad. AND Will Sampson also has passed. He was a pretty cool guy.

A REMAKE????? NOOOOOO!!! That's all Hollywood knows how to do anymore..there are TOO MANY and more than that, they do them TOO SOON!

PLUS - they pick movies that canNOT be improved upon. It will be a disasterous FLOP, count on it. Why don't they make a "ghost"movie and be creative and come up with their OWN story? geez.

Another great classic, The Neverending Story is being remade from what I hear...that's another one that is PERFECT..they won't be able to top it.
I WISH THEY WOULDN"T DO IT.

I also pretty much hate prequels.

I got all the answers perfect (even the fish) so I hope to win that movie set. Good flicks all. Poltergeist is still one of the greatest horror films ever, even at 27 years old when special effects did not have the technology of today. The character development made one care for the fate of the family. Although directed by Toby Hooper, it has Spielberg written all over it. He made us remember our childhood fears (the closet, what is lurking under the bed, thunderstorms, and things you think you see in the dark). Superb!
