Classic Christmas Movie Poll
In Holiday Inn, Bing Crosby discovered that the biggest Christmas miracles are the ones that happen in your heart. In Bad Santa, Billy Bob Thornton looked for his miracles at the bottom of the bottle. Which vision of the Yuletide spirit resonates most with you?
Was Billy Bob's drunken carousing a long overdue rethinking of the holiday flick or is injecting a Christmas movie with irreverent satire nothing short of sacrilegious? Take our Classic Christmas Movie Poll and let us know what you think.

please show Scrooge 1938 and how about It's a Wonderful Life.
I am looking for a TV Movie made in the 90s with Lorretta Young as a rich Widow who want to get her family together for Christmas Eve, I beleive it was her las outing as far a preforming. i would love to see it again!!! Thanks, Ern
The movie Ern is looking for is called Christmas Eve, which was made in 1986. It also starred Arthur Hill and Ron Leibman. I would like to see The Gathering,(1977) starring Ed Asner and Maureen Stapleton.
I am in search of a Judy Garland movie. It is about a music store and judy falls in love with a man (famous actor). He becomes manager of the store at the end. Judy is set up on a blind date with some man. The famous actor shows up and she didn't think that it was the date so he leaves her waiting because he didn't know she was his date. I would like to purchase the before Christmas or see it.
The movie with Garland is "In the Good Old Summertime." Eddie Albert starred as the pen pal / coworker in the music store.
Where is "White Christmas?!"
Starring Geraldine Page, and written & narrated by Truman Capote, "A Christmas Memory" (1966) is my favorite. It is not yet a DVD and I cannot find it anywhere on the TV schedule. How I long to see it, but I don't know where to find it.
This info is for Ern along with any other Loretta Young Fans. You may want to add a Loretta Young biography titled, "Forever Young" by author Joan Wester Anderson, to your Christmas wish list. It's really good and I have given it as a gift.
I think you can order the Loretta Young bio "Forever Young," or get more info on it, by visiting the author at www.joanwesteranderson.com. (She's also the inspiring bestseller author of "Where Angels Walk"!)
"In the Summertime" movie: It was Van Jonson, not Eddie Albert. It's a musical remake of "Shop Around the Corner." The movie "You've Got Mail" came from "Shop Around the Corner."
Where the hell was "White Xmas!?"
I would love to see "Scrooge," the musical version of "A Christmas Carol" starring Albert Finney. i have been watching to see if any channel would play it this season; if not, is there anyway I can purchase it?
I very disappointed that AMC is showing snipets of "Christmas Eve" with Loretta Young in its commercials, but it's not on the schedule! What gives?!?!
The omission of White Christmas is a COLOSSAL oversight!
I would really like to see "Holiday Inn". I love watching that movie at this time of year. Where is it?
I too, would like to see 'white christmas' again. Doesn't anyone want to run it any more?
I believe this is the correct info on "The Good Old Summertime" movie. Judy Garland starred with Van Johnson, who were the pen pals. And he knew this at the cafe. But, because of her verbal abuse, he left her waiting for her date. This is the way I recall it.
I love the version of "A Christmas Carol" with Alastair Sim. Why don't you show that anymore????
What happened to "White Christmas", "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" (both Jim Carey and original cartoon versions), "Home Alone", "Home Alone 2:Lost in New York", "Christmas Eve", and "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol"? Who ever made this poll isn't old enough to know many Christmas movies. They need to do better research on this.
I can't believe you don't have "White Christmas" on the list! My other favorites include "Christmas In Connecticut", "The Lemon Drop Kid" and "The Christmas List"
Speaking of Classics, does AMC have a Christmas movie titled "The Cheaters?" It starred Josef Schildkraut and Billie Burke. One of those 40s screwball comedies. Schildkraut's performance in this movie is moving, as he works on convincing a wealthy family that they are doing wrong by cheating someone out of a large sum of money.
If AMC can get a copy of this movie, please show it.
Sabrina
I would love to see "Holiday Inn" played and promoted. Does anybody out there even realize it is the movie that the song "White Christmas" originated in? Sure it's a much more pure, sappy, fun, romantic and fantastic story, about hopes and dreams and life and love...and it deserves NOT to be forgotten, in the wash of modern crap out there. Please!
I just love the old original "Miracle on 34th Street"---soooooo "Christmas Spirit inducing"!
We will be seeing Alastair Sim in "Scrooge" on Christmas Eve! It's a tradition!
