Your Best Movie Quote Of All Time?
The other day, I linked to a feature about movie quotes that are terrific within the movie. But they become tiresome when repeated ad nauseum.
But what about the great, memorable movie lines? See, my favorite movie of all time happens to be "Apocalypse Now."
So my favorite movie quote is "I love the smell of napalm in the morning," from John Milius' brillant screenplay which was so forcefully, crazily spewed by Robert Duvall's Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore. (Love the pun in that last name.)
But which is your favorite? Nicholson saying "You can't handle the truth?" Brando screaming "I could have been a contender"? Don't keep it all bottled up. Tell me.
Having thought about the best quotes, - what about the ones that are annoyingly overquoted?

"You talkin' to me?" Why? I find myself saying this line often in real life--without intentional imitation of the movie, only to realize as it's coming out of my mouth that I am, on some level, imitating it. This quote has become part of my life.
"Oh Lord, Loretta! You found something you can do!" Coal Miner's Daughter
An old boss of mine would randomly scream 'F**k you, G.I.!' during conference calls.
It completely confused me until he connected the dots om the quote.
"...and me fresh off a destroyer with nothing but dance belt and a tube of chapstick..." -- Corky St. Clair from Waiting for Guffman.
Don't ask me to explain why, but for some reason I've never been able to get "Where you at, Desmondo?" (Tommy Lee Jones, The Fugitive) out of my head. It's the first thing I say when I'm looking for something I've lost...
"All those moments will be lost, in time, like tears in rain." - Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner, 1982.
Might not be my absolute favorite off all time but the two words that Jack Palance speaks to Alan Ladd in "Shane" sums up what was a great character performance...PROVE IT!
great! thanks for all of these comments. i have to say that i think 'you talkin' to me?' is second on my list. but i love all of your quotes -- from where you at, desmondo? to prove it! send more!
I know that it dates me (so what?) but, I still think about "who are those guys" Butch CassidY and The Sundance Kid.
From Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid my favorite line would have to be; "Think ya used enough dynamite there Butch?"
"Asps, very dangerous. You go first." Salleh to Indy in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" Make me laugh every time I say it.
"What we got here, is ... failure to communicate..." from Cool Hand Luke.
I love it when I use this line in a meeting, with the pause after "is," and get a smile out of someone.
My favorite is from Scarface when Al Pacino says " Say hello to my little friend"
From The Hunchback Of Notre Dame,(1939)
Thomas Mitchell “Your intentions are not enough; they never put an onion in the soup yet”
The geatest lines are from Fletch. "I'll have a bloody mary and a steak sandwich, and a steak sandwich." or "It's all ball bearings these days, or do you need a refresher course."
(I`m bored... let`s go let`s go... I'm bored...) Or something like that... Nicolas Cage in Face Off
"Don't let your dick run your life!" The line comes from D.C. Cab, and I think the world would be much safer and peaceful place to live if more men ascribed to this way of thinkung.
"Don't knock masturbation. It's sex with someone I love." Woody Allen in Annie Hall
"Alas... how terrible is wisdom when it brings no profit to the wise"
-- Louis Cyphre, Angel Heart
"How do you shoot the Devil in the back? What if you miss?"
-- Verbal Kint, "The Usual Suspects"

Could anyone tell me the name of the movie with this quote: Do you love your boss?
Thank you
