The 10 Most Over-Quoted Movies
Not that they have to, but often blogs don't impress me. They're rarely well researched. Rather, they're usually spews and rants. But over at Quigspot, there an nicely researched story worthy of, well, at least Radar. The idea: people quote movies way too much, so much, it makes Quigspot rage righteously.
Everything from Monty Python ("I fart in your general direction") to Austin Powers ("Yeah, baby!") gets raked over the coals. It's not the movies that are hated so much. It's the people who quote them. What's Number One? 300 ("This is Sparta!"). All, sadly, are still being quoted!
So which are your most Over-Quoted movies, the ones that, when quoted, make you wanna scream in anguish?

"I'll be back." -- How tired of that expression can I be. And, it's a commercial, not a movie, and I think from the 80s, but "Where's the beef?" These things are just sad.
Of course - 'I'll be back' is still way too ubiquitous. I just wonder if, way back in the day, people hated hearing idiots dpew Bogart's "Of all the gin joints..."
I still cringe hearing "Of all the gin joints..." today. There just aren't enough people quoting lines from the Aeneid anymore ;)
The Godfather. I don't see that on the list. I guess I'm old.
Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
Although, if timed just right, this one will still have me in stitches.
Dirty Harry's "Go ahead...make my day!" and "Do you feel lucky punk? Well do ya!"
I curse the day the actor in Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 uttered the phrase, "Garbage Day!"
My Dad quoted Buckaroo Banzai at my brother's wedding.
It was genius.
He just stood there and calmly said 'wherever you go, there you are' as if it was the most natural thing to say.
"Play it again, Sam," especially since that line IS A MISQUOTE AND IS NOT EVEN IN THE &#$%*($ MOVIE!!!!!
Almost anything from Dirty Dancing. Those phrases are worn smooth. "I carried a watermelon?!" It was funny in the eighties.
The Princess Freakin' Bride. Don't get me wrong, I still love the movie, but does everyone have to quote the ENTIRE THING at me all the time?
300 is #1? Seriously? Weak.
And not one single Coen Bros. movie on the list. Sad. I believe the most over-quoted movie among my friends & family is The Big Lebowski.
THE CHINAMAN IS NOT THE ISSUE HERE, DUDE!
I am so sick of Borat quotes that I kind of want to track down Sascha Baron Cohen down and hurt him. Don't "niiiice" me, you tool.
From "A Mighty Wind", that Christopher Guest movie about the folk singers:
"Wha' happened??"
I cringed when I heard it in the movie, and prayed that it wouldn't ever hit the streets. And God said no.
