Kevin Smith will always be remembered as the cynical smartie who gave us two of the best indie films, Clerks and Dogma.  Since Dogma, his work has been, well, spotty.  Yet there's still hope.

So, what's up with his latest, Zack and Miri Make A Porno?  The pitch?  Says IMDB, "Two friends, both in their late 20s and feeling various strains of adulthood, decide to launch an amateur porn studio -- a knockout story for their upcoming high school reunion."  Hmmm - could be funny.  But Rosario Dawson dropped out of the film (that's still in pre-production) -- even though Smith wrote the female lead for her.

Now, Ain't It Cool is reporting that Jason Bateman may take the leading male role.  But Cinematical thinks he's too old to play a 20-something. And just now, Kevin Smith's official site denies the rumor.  Still, rumors persist.

Forget the prognostications.  My question? Who would make the best leading man and woman for these roles?  Has to be someone who's adventurous, right?
