Great video, original and scary. Certainly worthy of my vote.
I love the originality of this video and how the sound effects guide the intensity! There's nothing like this one out there!
Congrats on the top 20!!
There's no question why this made it to the finals! Awesomely scary!
It's still plenty scary. Good luck with the final vote. Barbara Freeman
We made it to the Finals!
Thank you all for your votes, your comments and your Amazing Support!
As our first public project together, we are inspired and more driven
than ever - We find it incredible that our first tiny production has gotten this
far at a national level - in all, we are humbled and overwhelmed.
This 'one minute clip' was a bit of a challenge to put together considering
the boundaries we encountered.
My brother and I - together with a basic handheld DV Cam, a desk lamp
and a twenty dollar extension cord (the cord which encompassed our total
budget) understood that in order to have a chance in this contest we had
to overcome the limitations of our "tools/equipment." Working through
these restrictions and producing an original soundtrack from scratch as
well as putting together a clip that would survive in a delicate genre such
as 'Suspense/Horror/Fear' while still tapping into the senses and
maintaining the essence that is 'film' – was an overall excellent exercise
of imagination, art and creativity.
My brother and I hope to eventually reach a budget between us comfortable
enough to afford to use equipment that will allow us to better compete (or
compete in a much more relaxed fashion) in the future - so that we may be
able to produce more experiences for our audience at a higher level of
quality.
As aforementioned - This experience has so far been exhausting and
exhilarating all at the same time. Thank you to AMC for this opportunity and
Again, Thank You to all of you watching, voting and experiencing this small
creation of ours and supporting the art and magic that is Film.

Good luck in the finals
This is a great movie. Good luck with the finals. Keep up the good work kids
I say it's a no-brainer (hey, Rob Zombie, are you watching, dude?). The winner has to be P.S. Averack's Greatest Fear; by far, it demonstrates the best use of chromatics, lighting/shadowing, sound, angles, etc.
Congratulations and continued good luck, Kyle and Peter!
An excellent original and creative 1 minute video.
wow this looks so professional well done!
Kyle,
I would never have thought that you produced this photo with just a lamp light and an extension cord. I am very impressed! I think you and your brother did a remarkable job editing the video, as well. The sound was great. The content was very smart. And it was engaging. I was actually scared to see what would be behind the door. I almost turned away. If you were to consider making any changes to it, I would edit the end so that the video would not end as abruptly. Perhaps add a few seconds of just black and sound. Anyway, best of luck in the contest! You deserve top 10. Heck, you deserve first! Congrats for making it this far!
Good luck on the final stretch!
HOW PROFOUND FOR SUCH A YOUNG MIND.
Good Luck Peter! Marianne Jelinek
The countdown in the beginning reminded me of Donnie Darko..good movie. But I have to say I wanted more with this clip. It wasnt bad it just needs more detail. Sometimes sudel is good but this was only a minute so the running was a little annoying, I wanted to know more. The concept sounds great: "fear of the unknown that lingers within man" although it may be too large a concept to capture in only a 1 minute clip. I liked the thought provoking behind it but this clip was too questionable and needed improvements on the monster image. A great concept demands more.
