Will there be a Season 3?

I'd love to find out why AMC's marketingdepartment insists on hiding Breaking Bad and not capitalizing on BC's emmy win. This is a terrific show yet, Season 2 reruns are shown only ONCE a week (at midnight, no less). Why not do a BB marathon, advertise the hell out of it, and gain a whole bunch of new viewers?? This is the most secretive show on television - ratings and viewership could easily double if only AMC put a little promotion behind it. Frankly, i'm stumped!
I have all of Season 2 recorded on my DVR, but none of Season 1. Will AMC rerun Season 1 before Season 3 starts?
I live in Los Lunas. I would like to no when Breaking Bad will be filming in Los Lunas again, How would one go about being an extra on the show?
Is there a new season, I think that would be #4,
in filming/scheduled for Breaking Bad?
I'm so obsessed with this show that I want to be an extra or anything associated with Breaking Bad.. I see you can win a Video Contest to do it, but I'd rather make my mark by posting in this forum and show I am a well-educated fan who knows the chemistry and the business. :)
Can you hook me up Clayton? I'm FIDC insured yo!
When is the damn show gonna be on???...I've been waiting for word from this show....this Oct?...Nov?...
I won some "Breaking Bad" swag according to the main talk page, was wondering how I actually get it.. Can't find much information about how to redeem my prize... Thanks.
This show has become my favorite series up to date. I would love to see the first two seasons replay before season three debuts.
I missed the first half of season one. Fell in love with season 2. Waiting for season three. Is there going to be more?
how can someone view seasons 1 & 2 to get caught up, if they don't have the internet?
We are anxiously awaiting season THREE - please let your BIGGEST FANS know when we can expect more!!! The ending of the last season (pink teddy bear...not saying anymore for those who haven't seen it yet) only made me want MORE of this wonderful series. PLEEEEASE post a date someone!!
I'm new to BB and I'm hooked like a dog. When does season 3 start?
im trying to find out what brand of one of the hoodie's worn by jesse in episode 11 ... it was mostly white with large print skulls and roses on it ... does anyone know what brand it is or how i could find out? ... any help would be greatly appreciated!
Ok this might be a stupid question, but when does season 3 start.. I'm dieing with anticipation.. Please help..
If any body has a copy of the April 1999 issue of Swank, Check it out. If that is not Krysten Ritter, then it's her double. She is listed as Corrine in this issue. If you have it check it out, and reply with a post. Also, does anyone know if she is related to John Ritter? Thanks.
Only 5 emey nomination ! This show deserves more! Breaking bad has not failed to keep me on the edge of my seat, every week, or put a smile or look of amasement on my face. The cast is great as well as the powerful writing. This show is #1. Here is to a long run! When dose season 3 start?
Has anyone else noticed in this series, there isn't any animals, such as a dog, a cat, a bird, a gerbil, hamster or a pet snake as a family pet, but we do see insects. Jessie plays with a black beetle on the sidewalk in one episode, and another episode the camera focuses a snail crawling on top of a stucco wall. Even the DEA doesn't use a drug sniffing dog in this series. Street scenes with neighborhoods of children, still no animals are present. Is there some significance of the lack of animals in this series with the only exception of the turtle scene?
I recently started watching Breaking Bad and it has become my favorite show due to the incredible writing and acting. I'm confused as to why AMC is restricting itself to repeating Season 2 episodes to just one time per week??? If the goal is to draw in more viewers, why not repeat each episode several times during the week? After all, each episode of Mad Men is repeated several times during the week...why not do the same with Breaking Bad??? AMC has the most incredible show on tv and it is blowing an incredible chance to make it more popular by practically keeping it a secret!
I have watched the first 2 seasons and can anyone give
me a projected date for season 3
I thought Skyler had a baby girl in the last or next to the last episode of the lrevious season. Now she still looks pregnant and doesn't have a baby.
I am totally out of the loop. I lost my cable & my friend had me catch up on her on demand episodes. So I just saw the ending of season 2. Is there going to be a 3rd? I seriously hope so. I haven't enjoyed a show this much in a long time. It takes the cake, writing, acting & all. I need more!
where is heisenberg? how much longer do we have to wait? please please please the anxiety is killing my life.
When is the projected starting date of season 3 for breaking bad? I'm going through withdrawls.
I would love to get a clip of that flashback scene where Walt and Gretchen are in the classroom, discussing the composition of the elements of the human body, and they find there is a small percentage missing, which they conclude is the soul.
I have an ancient computer; connecting to links takes forever, so if someone could be so kind as to send me the URL (if one exists) I would be eternally grateful.
Is there going to be a Season III? I LOVE this show!
Please add BB Trivia here.. Questions and answers.
I'll start .. Jesse had a Red Kawasaki.. looked to be a pretty sweet ride for NM.
Model? ... Is he even seen riding it?
Somewhere like Mojave desert or Mexico??
In names in the beginning of episodes there are names with symbols of elements. I'm curious - what elements have symbols:
Es (Giancarlo 'Es'posito)
Ch (Mi'Ch'ael Slovis)
Does anyone know why Charter Communications (cable company) has not updated the "on demand" feature with the last two episodes? Because of my work schedule, I go to bed early on Sundays and I usually wait until Monday to watch the show. But recently Charter Communications has not updated the show. Help anyone?
Mr. Gilligan when can we enter a contest to participate in an episode? Or at least be on the set. I would love to know if there is a contest coming up for something like this.
I need a rough idea of when to start looking for the new season to begin.
When is season three scheduled to begin? Anybody know?
So I canceled my total cable account with them today :-) Please help me find another way to watch!
Any word on the release date for the latest season?
Anyone have a challenge coin like this:

I missed a couple of episodes in seasons 1 & 2. how did they ever get rid of crazy 8??
Feel like me?.....disappointed and wishin' for the weekly dose of BREAKING BAD?
In a previous episode Walt's glasses (or at least what looked a lot like them) were pulled out of the pool by an OMI agent during the B/W sequence. Could there be more to this scene that involves Walt's usual scheming?
Also, after watching the footage of Jane's Dad communicating with the planes a couple times it seems clear that the collision was not an accident...He's staring at the screen and communicating directly with the two objects: JM021 and WAF515 moments before they collide. There's no way he could not have known. Maybe he broke bad...
One last thing: why where the OMI / NTSB agents wearing gas masks at Walt's house? Would they really be recovering wreckage all suited up like that?
Where can I purchase an exact replica of the Breaking Bad pink teddy bear/stuffed animal? Gotta have it!
Can anybody tell me the name of the song that plays while Walter undergoes his surgery?
We missed 2 episodes in the midst of Season 2 due to a DVR f__k up.
Because Breaking Bad is so complex and nuanced we didn't want to watch the rest until we could see what we'd missed.
Bummer-city! AMC doesn't appear to re-run previous episodes throughout the week, nor do the mini-marathons that HBO, etc do.
SO! Does anyone know whether the second season will be in re-runs soon?
Hi everyone, I am a devoted viewer of the show and I missed the last episode of the show. I think it was episode 12- Open Thread. How can I get caught up?
Why exactly did Walter chose the name of scientist Werner Heisenberg (1901-1976) for his alter ?
why cant i watch episode 11, i missed it now i cant find it to watch.why?
I was watching a series today called The DaVinci Inquest (filmed in Canada a couple years ago) and this one episode showed that someone was cooking meth from a hotel room and they had run a pipe to the bathroom vent THINKING the fumes would just drift away into the air but the fumes actually went into the next room and killed an innocent couple.
So when DaVinci the coroner came onto the scene he hurridly notified the manager and then he himself went door to door making sure everyone got out and away from the building immediately. Then he called the drug team to the scene. There was a slight indication that the incident had actually happened a day or two before
Now my question is this: Seeing as how so far Walt and Jesse have cooked in that RV at least three
times, even though they wore home made Hazmat type suits it looked to me like the windows were shut and the door TO the RV was shut as well alot of times.
Plus in a recent episode, they were both sweating it out IN the RV while desperate to try to figure out how to get out of their situation.
Ya can't really watch it on this site, right?
can anyone plz tell me the name of the song at the end of the show thanks and who sings it
Can anyone tell me where I can see last Sunday's episode?
If the characters were real who would you want to hang out with? Walt would be pissed off all the time, Jesse would be trippin, Hank can be a jerk... maybe the hot landlady! ... nah, it would have to be Badger for me. That dude cracks me up. Have you seen the original minisode "The Break In" with Heisenberg and Badger? It's priceless. Watch it.
Hank!! When are you tossing out those sweet shirts? Anyone who reads your blog wants one, including me!
seeing as the cartel are after Heseinberg and all, I'm thinking "Mario Almada" should be the drug lord..
He's a famous actor in Mexico and his roles always involve drug lords and cops after them, ya know?
so who do you think should play the drug lord?
Hey, a few questions about the wardrobe in BB, (Great job with it by the way, interesting use of colors for sure)
1. Are most of Jesse's clothes from the same designer? Is it Volcom? A few of the items look like they are Volcom.
2. Ditto for Walt, are most of the items from 1 designer.....I find his wardrobe very interesting indeed, I like how the color palette seems to change based on the character's changes. And I love the retro Wallabee shoes (which I love!), so cool to see. and they fit Walt very well :)
3. Is Walt's bathrobe a certain style/designer? It seems very colorful and interesting compared to how a lot of his other clothes seem, it also seems very "Southwest"
how do walt and jesse get the ephedrine they use with all the restrictions on purchasing cold medications
Could someone explain that bracelet to me ? I didn't get the significance. Thanks.
Why is last Sunday's episode "Breakage" NOT on line here yet for us to see before this Sunday's is aired?? That is totally weak...if they make us wait till the next episode then we totally ate lost and never catch up...what the heck is the deal with this? I want to view that episode now
Did anyone notice the little "Be on Breaking Bad" blurb at the bottom of AMC's Breaking Bad homepage? Read what it says here: "Enter the video contest for a chance to win $1,000 and a walk-on role in Season 3 of Breaking Bad"
Has Season 3 already been announced or did they just inadvertently admit that another season is now in production? Sorry if it's already common knowledge that there will be a Season 3, but after watching the current one, I didn't know what to expect; we look poised for a tragic (perhaps final) ending.
I had to travel this weekend for work, and my hotel only had satellite, no cable, hence no AMC, and no Breaking Bad, episode 4. I can't find anything on the site about rebroadcasts during the week, but think AMC must do them, as I recall tuning in once and seeing a bit of the prior week's episode -- which I had already seen, but don't remember the date and time that was. AMC's schedule, for some odd, unknown reason, only lists titles through to 8:00 pm.
Can someone help a working stiff who had the misfortune to stay at a hotel in which AMC was not on the list of Satellite channels offered?
Does Jesse's fall through the Porta-Potty compare to the bathtub falling through the ceiling in Season 1? Why or why not?
In the opening scene at the grocery store, Jesse and Walt are talking and a man comes up. This person looks like Harrison Ford with a blond wig on. Did anyone notice this? Is it my imagination, or does it really look like Harrison Ford? My girlfriend thinks I'm crazy...
Does anybody know where to get one ? The brand ?
I was just wondering if anyone knew what kind of sweatshirt jesse pinkman is wearing in this episode. It white with a bunch of colors, mostly black letters but also colors. Please answer this question, its bugging me!!!
When are we going to be able to watch full episodes? Have been waiting for weeks!!!
A couple of episode's ago, Mr. White's detective b-inlaw found out through Jessie's mother that he had a "high rider" and asked his team to "track" this car and then was able to find it at Tuco's remote house - how are you able to track a car to it's exact location? My husband & son were curious about this too! Does anyone know?
Ok, may be a bit niave but I am rewatching Season 1 with my wife to get her caught up and I remember having this question the first time I saw it and I still have the question the second time I saw it.
In the first or second episode, there is a scene with Walt running a bunch of loose bills in a dryer. What was the reason for this?
I don't remember the bills getting wet... hmmm... or was this the episode after Jesse brings Walt his 'half' which was the $4000.00? But I could swear this scene was before that scene....
Anyway, does anyone have a decent explanation?
I saw you could win a Breaking Bad T-Shirt by participating in the Blogs but I would like to have a T-shirt just because. I checked the store but the only thing I could find for sale under the AMC Store for Breaking Bad was the First Season. Anyone know where I can get a t-shirt?
Yes, I don't have cable. Anyone know of a bar in south Brooklyn that shows it?
Hi, I missed last weeks episode. Anyone know if you can watch the full episode online? Thanks
I need help nailing down the date of the season two finale. I am intending to throw a Breaking Bad season Finale Party. Lots of Interest. Anyone have definitive proof of the date of this seasons finale?
Whatever happened to the guy that was in the basement at Jesse's house? I remember Mr White was responsible for killing him, and I never saw the episode where they said or showed what happened. I assume he isn't still down in the basement! Any help would be appreciated.
I just put this one of the threads but will put here too.
I'd love to hear how and why Vince Gilligan chose Albuquerque as the location of the show and the Albuq. Country Club as Jesse's neighborhood. I grew up in ACC in late 60's early 70's and really enjoy the scenes they shoot on the streets. It is a classic and beautiful neighborhood. I'd love to see more. I know the house they are using for Jesse's house. I used to play with the family across the street and play in the park around the corner. It;s a great choice for Jesse's house because it's such a contridiction to the entire classic, quiet style of the "hood".
The synopsis posted of episode 1, Season 2, indicates TWO dead bodies at the auto salvage yard. Tuco beat his guy to death and he was placed under the stack of cars. Who was the second?
Who thought up the name, "Twaughthammer"? For obvious reasons, it makes me cringe!!
I think it was season 1 episode 6 -- the closing music--
" I wish that I was stoned."
Who is this? What is the song?
Sounds like Dylan.
While running back through Season 1, I came across a question that I need answered. During the opening scenes of 103 while Walt and Jesse are cleaning up the mess, Walt has a flashback. It took me awhile to figure out it was a flashback and indeed it was Walt with Gretchen. Why is Walt attempting to inventory the chemical makeup of the human body with Gretchen? I understand they were in Grad school together when they formed Gray Matter Tech.
Thanks for the help,
Infern0
Ok, I have not been a viewer since the recent marathon hooked me. Can someone please tell me how Jesse has this big house he lives in all alone? I guess I missed something somewhere.
I was just wondering if there are any plans to release the HD version on Blu Ray?
I love BB so much, I talk it up to everyone I know.... especially those who are interested in chemistry. My science department at school is eager to see the new season. How many people do you tell about BB?
Just a question because I am confused.
I tuned in to the original episodes of Breaking Bad. Then I know I remember there being a hiatus and then a second set of episodes. I would've called this "second set" Season 2. So am I imagining that there was a break between the initial offerings of Breaking Bad episodes and the second set of offerings?? Why aren't the episodes coming out in March '09 being described as Season 3??? I'm beginning to feel crazy here....
Why can't any of these cable channels just simply post on the main page when the new season starts? It is always a mystery and then we miss the premiere & end up 2 or 4 episodes behind.
Anyone know WHEN Breaking Bad REALLY starts in 2009? We've read July, March & January.
?????????????????
Anyone know if and when there will be another marathon? I wasn't able to watch the last one all the way through, so I am very excited to find out when another season 1 marathon will be starting!
Does anyone know when Season 2 is starting? I need to watch more!
I saw the first episode of the series at my parents place, but have not seen any others because I don't have cable. Has the been an episode where the re was reference to a woman be arrested for delivering a "meth baby," or some other similar scenario?
Cold damp and basically miserable in the Midwest this morning I'd really love to be able by pass all my college sweatshirts in favor of a Breaking Bad one.
Nothing fancy needed.
The shows title or that fabulous logo on T's, sweatshirts, mugs and what have you?
Breaking Bad has been on AMC here in our area for two years now and only keeps running the first episode over and over again on two different stations. Are you ever going to get a series? My son and I love the show.
When is the 2nd season going to start? Someone please clue me in!
I watched an episode where Walt and Jesse killed one guy by the desert lab place and take one other dude back to Jesse's house. Later Walt kills the other dude, and Jesse who is in charge of disposing of the 1st dead body, disolves the dead body in a bath tub and the chemicals actually disolve the whole floor and a the remaining of the dead body fall all over the 1st floor. Does anybody know what episode that is?? Its really confusing because I am sure I watched it but I cant find in the sinopses anything about these episodes!!! the alive dude was being held in Jesse's basement by having a metal lock around his neck holding him to one of the columns in the basement. Help me!!! has anybody seen this episode??
Please tell me that there will indeed be a season 2 for Breaking Bad and when I can expect it to start. This show is AWESOME !
Could someone please tell me what type of Hood Jesse is wearing in episode 4 and where I can get those kinds of hoods, It would fit perfect to my Jeans ^^
I need to watch Breaking Bad, how can I watch from Europe?
Thanks :)
Does any1 know if or when they will have the show available online?Love the show but do not have amc right now. Thanks
can anyone tell me when season 2 of breaking bad
will start ? it is the badest show ever. thanx
As I have commented previously, Breaking Bad deserves high accolades for the musical selections used throughout season one. It would be great to see some kind of official soundtrack release.
In the meantime, I have been able to identify most of the songs, but at the end of episode 2, there was a song used that I can't identify. Does anyonone know what this was? (It is played at the close of episode 2 as the girl, presumably of native american descent, discovers the gas mask, lleft behind by walt in episode 1, and dons the gear as if it were some kind of astronaut headgear, and she were exploring alien terrain.
i would like to know what the song/artist is thats playing in episode 6 while jesse is out slinging ice. it's really a catchy tune and dare i say that a series hasn't, in my opinion, had such an appropriate score since miami vice. cranston is an absolute shoein for an emmy. i still can't believe there is actually such a RIVITING show on tv as this is, in this cultural vacuum anymore..wow.
indulging one of my usual fan quirks-- getting to know and love the characters is a complicated process for me -- I find myself very curious on the ages of some of these characters.
We know Skylar's younger as its unlikely she'd be pregnant at 50 but how much younger?
How long do you figure Jessie's been out of High School? A couple years or is he in mid twenties already?
Which sister is older?
How much younger than Walt does that possibly make Hank?
I need any and all speculation so don't hesitate to throw in your .02 cents
This is my first attempt at blogging so please bear with me. I started this because I am a bartender/server in a seasonal town and I have the summer off. The other shows I go to for impeccable writing and shows that are actually a contribution to televivion art are Sopranos reruns. It works for me because my fiance has never seen any of them and it's fun to watch them with a new set of eyes. 30 Rock is hilarious, any subdivision of the Law and Order dynasty is a great diversion, the Cubs games (because I no longer live in Chicago) and like someone else mentioned X Files repeats. Gilligan is the Charles Bukowski of television. Does anyone know if AMC will re-air Breaking Bad's first season or if it scheduled to be released on DVD?
On what date does the new season start?
I love this show - so serious, yet so funny all at the same time. Does anybody know where I can obtain a copy of the Pilot script + one or two additional episodes? Even a transcript would be okay. Thanks!
I just wanted to pitch in my two cents.
I have a long forgotten love of Science and Chemistry that has been renewed after watching this show.
I have even recently looked into taking some courses on Chemistry down at the local college. People need to be reminded just how complex, intricate, and interesting this world is (and all the matter that comprises it), as episode 6 illustrates nicely.
Breaking Bad is brilliant -- perhaps a step beyond brilliant. I was so blown away by the scene where they have a "cancer intervention" with Walt. It was just acting, but I'll be damned if it didn't bring more than just a tear to my eye! (Damn you!) What a stellar cast. Every single one of them deserves full Kudos for portraying their characters so flawlessly. Even the finessing touch of the "Talking Pillow"! God! My Mother used to employ a similar "token" during heated family conversations (and my father would use and accept the token just about as begrudgingly as Hank did).
I came here to find out why there are no episodes past episode 7?? Who do you think you guys are? Even Larry David, a retired Billionaire who writes, acts in, and produces Curb Your Enthusiasm, in his free time does 10 episodes a season!
I wait with breathless anticipation for your next brilliant season of Breaking Bad (which will hopefully have more than 7 episodes).
My hat goes off to you Vince Gilligan! Now please apply yourself to the task of securing a 2nd season, or I will have "Walter" come talk to you.
This is one of the most interesting, creative, daring, and captivating shows I've ever been privileged to be hooked on. No other show has me setting my time clock quicker than this one. I even set it a day or two in advance. When I noticed there was no sign of an episode coming up I got worried. After frantically checking this site, I see that what I thought was just another episode leading me down this great path of excitement, was in fact the season finale?
That is a blow to my system, but not as much as never seeing this show again would be. This is not a show you treat lightly. It must be understood that many have already invested a lot of emotion into the storyline, the concept, and not to mention the awesome cast. I am touched by this show because I myself have lung cancer and I also at times have made myself an illegal profit.
If I don't see this show returning, and returning in full effect, I will be put off of AMC for quite a while, perhaps indefinitely. To all those who break bad, keep the dream alive!
Ever since the last episode, I have been frequently checking the site to see if the show got picked up for a second season (How could they not!?)
I was just wondering when they will know about a second season, and then if they do get picked up, when new episodes will begin.
I misssss it!
We enjoy Breaking Bad so much...the acting is top-notch which makes the whole story so believable. We were enjoying watching the reruns "On Demand" and now they are not available. Will they be made available in the very near future???? We can't hardly wait for Season 2!!!!
7 episodes is more like a tease than a season. Have they shot the next season? Or must there be deals made at the networks first?
Why are they teasing us w/ re-runs? Have they not shot all the episodes yet? The show is so good...I'm cool with whatever they're up to.
Vince, please tell me where can I buy the BAD tee shirt you were wearing? I must have one!
This may have been discussed, but is it possible that Mr. White, and Pinkman (Mr. Pink) are subtle references to Reservoir Dogs? The stylization of BB with subtle humor, mixed with brutal violence reminds me a lot of Tarantino's work. Perhaps that's why so many people enjoy the show so much.
Does anyone know when it will be shown again? Or will i have to wait ten weeks for rerun showing? Help!
Please tell us that you are going to make Season 2. PLEEEEEASE.......
Although i do believe Meth is a very dangerous drug....I remember as a child of the '70s that marijuana was looked upon the same way. When I married, my husband was an insulin dependent diabetic and had been since the age of 10. When he grew up, he became a terrible alcoholic (Alcohol isn't exactly the best thing to imbibe when you have diabetes). We found that by smoking marijuana he could put down the alcohol and he dropped from a size 52 pants to a 32 in just a few months.
He was expected to suffer blindness, kidney failure... any one of a host of ills. The one he worried the most about was going blind, though. Each year we would get his eyes checked and his retinas showed minimal damage. For the amount of time he had had diabetes the Docs were left shaking their heads on why he wasn't showing much retinal damage. We smoked approx. a joint and a half late at night before bed...we didn't have children so we didn't have to worry about setting an example for anyone.
This is perhaps the best shoe to come along in a few years. I have to know, however, what brand are Walt's shoes? It's driving me crazy. Anyway, keep up the great work!
Okay. Before I ask my question I have to start this post with a few things. I enjoy this show tremendously. It has the intensity of The Shield with the humor of Weeds, two attributes that go very well together and that escape any network show to date, even though I rarely watch network shows because for the most part they are not worth watching. I have watched Malcolm in the Middle and Bryan Cranston is so far removed from that show he is almost unrecognizable. This is a great accomplishment. This show is a winner. Anyone comparing Breaking Bad to garbage like Lost or Heroes, (both okay shows, but out of their league in this case) should stick to watching network TV. 24 unfortunately starts again sometime in the future, stick to that. Jack Bauer is a pansy. Walt would choke him with a bicycle lock, melt his body in a plastic tub, smoke some pot, go have sex with his wife, and then go cook some flawless meth. Enough said.
I have read a few reviews on this site that call the show immoral, I have to agree a little bit, but I think before one passes final judgment, he or she should see how the show ends. Clearly they are going somewhere with this and it can't end well. Maybe the story line will get into the terrible side meth. I would have to guess that is where it is going. Is there really another way to go??? So I say give it a chance before ruling this show out. Don't let the kids watch and let your self enjoy a truly good show. Also if you seriously think about it, when was the last time a TV SHOW made you laugh and cry? It is just a very well told story about a desperate man. It makes you think about what you would do if you were in his situation. The show draws you in and doesn't let you go.
Okay now here is my question... What does green mean???
Or rather, what does it symbolize? Walt always wears green? I can't find any definitive answer to the symbolism. It could be anything from jealousy to some magical soothing/healing power "Suicides dropped 34% when London's Blackfriar Bridge was painted green." Anyway, Just thought I would start some sort of discussion on what you all think, as greens' spectrum of symbolism is so large.
Let me know.
I'm really trying to get into this show, but the lack of a timely online availability of shows is pretty lame. i mean, episode 5 is on, and we can only see 1 and 2 online? like to give it a try, but why so long to get at least episode 3 online?
I have heard a few gripes about this show starting so late and the corollary regarding the censorship of language. I'm curious about what other people think.
Personally, I'm fine with the late start because my son goes to bed right before it starts and I know I won't be interrupted during the show. In fact, when the time changes, I'll have to wait for the encore, since he'll still be awake.
I've found the language censorship to be a little odd, but I'm also planning to buy the box set when it comes out, so eventually I'll be able to watch it as it was intended.
My older son is 15 and will be 16 this year. I'm not sure he's quite ready to see something like this, although it won't be much longer. Frankly, I'm less offended when I think of it through his eyes by the overt language and drug usage, than I am by the euphemisms. You know...the things I haven't quite gotten around to explaining to him from every day life. For example, there have been two references (so far) to "pinching a loaf". I kind of think that I already knew about this by his age, but I had an older brother and a father who was a World War II veteran. My husband had two older brothers and a father who was a World War II veteran! So you know he knew about loaf pinching!
I think it was easier to tell him about sex than it will be about this subject. He's a smart kid, though, so he'll figure it out!
So what exactly is the dude smoking with his blowtorch and glass pipe? I mean is there actually something relatively innocuous that you can do that with for the sake of realism or is it pretty toxic in it's own right (however legal it might be) and just an occupational hazard of the role? The show is incredible and, not unlike Mad Men, its draw seems in large part due to being willing, even committed, to go to the places in peoples' lives that are considered too boring, too private or too volatile for the stomach of most network executives. Bravo.
In the first episode there was some music that sounded like a thin tinney bass guitar that then burst into something heavy that sounded Spanish...What band was that???
Why the delay in episode #3?? Two episodes and I've got a rerun. Is the delay 'till next week part of the writers' strike? These days it's hard to find a cutting-edge show that will keep people on the edge of their seats and tuning back in loyally every week.
This kinda blows, ya know?
Is it a 1989 Kawasaki Concourse?????
While it's terribly old-fashioned in this day and age, I personally like to put pen to paper in appreciation for a job well done.
I would most definitely like to express that appreciation when it comes to this show, its creator and its spectacular cast. Does anyone have any idea where to get a mailing address for AMC and or the production company behind Breaking Bad?
Many of you have asked about the two different formats of the premiere episode of Breaking Bad.
The following is the official statement from AMC explaining the difference between the two versions, the reasons for them, and what to expect in future episodes:
As part of AMC's commitment to presenting a cinematic and immersive entertainment experience to our audience we prepared two versions of the pilot of Breaking Bad. The first version, which aired at 10PM on Sunday, January 20th was presented without commercial interruption in order to provide an experience that is as immersive and exciting as possible. Subsequent versions of the show have been shown with limited commercial breaks which have required an edit with a shorter run time and a TV-14 Rating.
All episodes after the pilot episode will be presented in one version in all time slots.
You can catch a special encore presentation of the premiere tonight January 24 10PM | 9C
There was a commercial, right after the premiere showing of Breaking Bad, that stated that it would be available on Itunes..Is this fact?
UPDATE: The premiere episode is now available on iTunes as well as Amazon.com's Unbox
