Talk: Breaking Bad: September 2011
Is the spanish is driving you mad too??
Let me first say that this is the best series on television, ever. That said, how hard is it to find actual bilingual actors? OR a voice coach for those that don't actually speak spanish? OR better yet, get your actors that actually speak spanish to teach the others better pronunciation.
I'm actually Chilean and, while i give major Kudo's to the actor who played Gus' partner in the flashback, Gus' lines are practically gibberish. Spanish differs from country to country, and it's not a simple job of translating. The dialects spoken across latin America are almost as different as French is compared to Creole.
Okay... done ranting. Just had to get that off my chest >_>
Why would Gus tip his hand?
This bugs me a bit. If Gus plans to kill Hank and does not want interference from Walt, wouldn't it make more sense to just DO it, rather than tell Walt he's going to do it and threaten him not to interfere?
Los Pollos Hermanos?
Isn't the name of Gus' restaurant translated incorrectly? In one episode, there was a commercial which confirmed the name is supposed to be "the chicken brothers" in spanish. However my understanding is "the chicken brothers" translated into spanish would be "los hermanos pollos". And, I believe that "los pollos hermanos" translated into english would be "the brother chickens"
Replay of Full Episode 11?
Does anyone know if there is a way to see the full Episode 11 again online? I had it taped on DirecTV DVR but the whole episode was pixalilated from a bad signal. I tried to watch it this morning and realized the satelite signal was messed up. AMC doesn't have another showing of Episode 11 this week.
Predictions for the end of the season
I thought Walt would have been a more dangerous person throughout this season, but now that I have seen how this has all played out, I do believe Walt will use his biggest weapon toward Gus – his brain. I’ve been waiting for the show to return to Walt’s genesis, the chemistry. Bombs? Eh, “Muy facil,” as the Cousins put it. I can’t wait to see what the writers have in store.
As for Jesse, I think Mike will die or Gus will let him die, which will create a deeper understanding of who Gus Fring really is. This would probably tell Jesse all he needs to know about the men whom he has decided to stay in business with. Walt is the devil he knows… Gus is just the Devil.
Hank. Wow! This last episode was disturbing. I think Hank will spill the beans on the laundry site and lead the police just above the lab, but the Meth-lair is too well concealed.
Will the big moments happen in the penultimate episode like last season, or will they wait for the finale to blow our mind back? Whatever the case, I see Walt as being triumphant. He won’t be trying to be the tough guy anymore; he’ll be the intellect, Heisenberg.
Walter ther
Your Post
Bridge on the River Kwai
The movie which Tio is watching when Gus visists him is called The Bridge on the River Kwai. The movie basically is the tale of a British colonel during WWII who as a POW of the Japanese, gets his soldiers to help the Japanese build the Bridge. At the endof the movie- the clip showed on BB- the Colonel (played by Alec Guiness) too late realizes his mistake- "What have I done"- that he has made one mistake after another leading to a disaster.
Obviously, paralleling Walter's choices.
Michael Ehrmantraut
Now we know Mike's last name. But what does it mean?
Whats next for Walt?
Im new here but have loved this show from day one. I thought from the beginning of this season that Walt will end up the boss by killing Gus. It seems that just may happen because I think i heard the show was up for another season. If not what is Walt going to do. We know they are not gonna kill of the star of the show. I cant wait to see how the wrap this up the next two weeks.
Breaking Bad
How many more beatings can Walt take? And, why didn't Gus and Jesse drive back from the hospital in the Cadillac, rather than walking 6 miles?
What's your poison?
Seriously...what kind of poison requires a hypo in the mouth? I thought, before Don Eladio appeared, that Gus was taking some sort of antidote, but if so, why was it still necessary to make himself vomit? And why didn't that help? What WAS that stuff!?
Gomie is Gus's mole at the DEA
His body language was very strange in the meeting with Gus...
The first season of Breaking Bad
In the first episode of Breaking Bad after the birthday party is Walter getting a HJ I just can't tell.
Insider podcast 411 file corrupted?
Anybody else having trouble downloading the 411 podcast? it just goes for under two minutes, then stops. the embedded one on the site seems fine, but the downloadable one in the RSS feed is corrupted. Wanna listen in the car....any help?
The money
I'm sorry, I might be really thick but why is Walt going crazy over Skylar giving Ted some money? There's loads of cash still there.
Walter`s jacket
Hello, mr and mrs, say me, please, what brand of this jacket? Its very like military M41. But no ideas
Walter`s Jacket
Hello, mr and ms, say me, please, what brand of this jacket? Its most like military M41... I no ideas
The Lying Game
Why did Annie Hobbs only came back for Emma? Which episode was this revealed, if any?
The Meth was like .2 off
What was the point of the scene where the Gus's goon reweighed the meth and it was a few points off of what Walt said? Was that an accident or did walt mean to write the wrong number? What was the significance of this whole scene and ordeal?
I Get it Now, Walter White is Dead
I just replayed the episode and it occurred to me as I watched the ending that Walter White is dead. Beneath the floor of his suburban home he lies buried.
As I watched the ending I realized that right at the end he stops laughing and goes still.
What I think we are being shown is that Walter White- the teacher, the father, the husband is now gone. Dead and buried. His psyche finally snapped. The only recourse to him is to be Heisenberg now. Not just to survive physically, but mentally. And not just for a little while to get out of this pickle he is in, but always.
Its all he can do. And I think that is what this season is all about- the Breaking of Walter White. Pushing him until he could no longer be Walter, the guy who occasionally played at being heisenberg, he is now Heisenberg, who will use the facade of Walter White. How can a man of Walters background survive all that he has been through in the last year? Murdering people, losing his wife, estranged and living a constant lie, the constant looming death from cancer, Gus, and everything else, the constant pressure of Hank and the DEA breathing down his throat. There is no way for his psyche to hold up. So under that house, in the dirt he lies buried, and the only person coming out of there is Heisenberg.
I expect complete ruthlessness from here on out. I even think he may seriously kill Jesse and whoever the hell he has to now.
What do you guys think? Watch the ending again... think about the season. Is that what this is all about? Am I reading too much into it?
Chile & German Company-what the connection??
Clues – what’s the connection??? What gives???
#1 - Remember when the Mexican drug cartel leader tells Gus "the only reason you're alive is because I know who you are" at the pool after killing Gus's chemist (a flash back to younger days) friend.
#2 – It is suggested Gus is from Chile even though the DEA can find no record of him (Gus makes reference to ex President Pinochet)
#3 – This last episode, Hank tells Walt that Gus’s chicken company is owned by a German conglomerate & also owns the company that makes a high tech air filtration system.
It's the beating of his hideous heart!!!
Was anyone else reminded of Edgar Alan Poe's short story, The Tell-Tale Heart, when walt was looking up under the crawl space at Skylar and the music suddenly stops except for the heart beat? And Walt's psychotic breakdown was maniacal like the Narrator from the short story, losing it because of the burden that they were both holding onto until... BOOM!
The hints are there, Ted's Dead, or not...
If Ted is indeed dead, that would be a huge move. When I saw the first airing I had doubts, like holy hell, just like that?
I feel confident to say that I watched all three airings last night and after the third when I really read between the lines after the ''GodFather'' reference of oranges and death (noticed it when I first saw it), Beneke answering the door like Boetticher for the one who knocks and saying, "Hello, how may I help you.", tieing the knot on the money problem for the most part, and Kury's "act of God speach', he could be in a serious unconsious state like a comma but I well..think, Ted's Dead...or not. I'm sure for the most, then I get doubts...
I guess we'll know next week... could his death be that simple?
For Now. But he'll come around...
When Gus tells Jesse that Walt watched his girlfriend die he will indeed "come around".
Spolier Alert: Possible Ending to Season 4
Someone on here posted early in the season that Walter Jr. would be killed in a car bomb explosion. I have been watching closely and the pieces for this are coming together.
Skyler bought him a car.
He commented in the hospital that he would be willing to drive Hank now that Walt can't after the accident.
The preview for next week shows what looks like bomb material and including a switch.
Bryan Cranston has said that "something shocking" happens in the final seconds of season 4. A car bomb killing Walt Jr would indeed be shocking and set up a dramatic season 5.
Is Ted Dead?
a little trip and slide to the neck break maybe.
Season Finale
The description for episode 13 says:Walt and Jesse team up on Gus; Walt finds an unexpected ally with Saul's help.
So who do you think the unexpected ally could be? Could it possibly be Mike?
Wasn't Walt bragging that he was "The One Who Knocks"?
Words are cheap for that man.
Walt's second biggest mistake.
He didn't let Jessie just poison those two goons. Jessie said it would be hard to trace. Walt said no. Jessie wen for the gun , Walt killed them instead and that lead to Gus' wrath for having being disobeyed.
His biggest mistake was starting to cook for Gus in the first place. He had enough money but fell for GUs' "A man provides for his family" line. Also, he fell in love with the fancy lab as if it were a shiny new toy.
Why did Gus want to get rid of Walt in the first place?
I am having a difficult time trying to figure out why Gus wanted to get rid of Walt in the first place (before Gale was killed by Jesse) and why he wants to get rid of him now... Looking at the plot on the wiki all I can find is Walt's killing of the two drug dealers who had Combo killed by Tomas... but two street dealers are so insignificant... doesn't make sense!
Hector....
im having an argument right now about why hector cant talk i say he had a stroke but my boyfriend says no....
Jesse Take over????
Why does everyone keep saying Jesse should kill Gus and take over?
You don't exactly just kill your boss and get their operation willed to you.
It just crumbles.
walts cancer returning?
anyone else notice how much walt is coughing in this episode? cancer relapse?
also mad props to the director for the shot at the end where walt is in the crawl space and it looks like hes in a shallow grave... foreshadowing much? just awesome
Why cant Walt afford the extraction???
Why doesnt Walt have enough money for the extraction? Sure 600k is gone and 1 mil for the carwash but hasnt he made at least a few million by now?
Mike's Voice dubbed
Anyone notice that when Walt says to Gus, "If you can kill me..." it is actually Mike's voice. Go back and listen carefully but it's 100% Mike's voice. Is that suppose to mean something or just a mistake?
Revenge
In the end I can see Walt getting the best of everyone and Walt's family will be the sole survivors.....remember his chemistry genius :)
gus...
"are you suggesting i ordered the murder of a child"- gus....... "i will kill your infant daughter" -gus
Saul In The Court Room
I wonder if we will ever get a chance to see Saul Goodman in the court room working his magic.
L
One of the best episodes an amazing ending to it. Brian Cranston could of played the joker with that laugh
S4E11 - Crawl Space
HOLY F**KING HELL THAT WAS F**KING AWESOME!! And the ending LOL !!!!!!
BREAKING BAD
THE BEST EPIDSODE EVER
Wow, that was crazy.
Just like Ted slipping, it seems like the rug has been pulled right out from under us (and Walt). Everything is thrown up in the air again.
I felt sorry for Hank, back in bed again. Hope he has at least one more badass moment before the end of the season.
Also, are we sure that Ted's dead? It was hard to tell because his hand was twitching.
Teds dead
with such a crazy episode i dont think ted got the death he deseved its like it never even happenned
s4ep11
either walt or hank are gonna die or walts gonna go to jail
can I watch now?
I lost my AMC... where can I watch NOW online?

Jesse a fan favorite?
Just caught up on Breaking Bad thanks to netflix, and I'm surprised to learn that he seems to be a fan favorite. At this point in the series he's by far my least favorite character and I've been hoping he'd be killed off for sometime now. He's such a whiny baby, it's unbearable. Not really happy that he seems to be on the inside with Gus now and how the Walt character has turned so unlikable in season 4.
Still watch for Saul, Gus and Mike but not really liking either of the leads at this point
BrBa and the Emmys
Why was the show or any of the cast not nominated this year?
Purple PT Cruiser
Why would anyone in their right mind buy a purple PT Cruiser for a teenage boy? Is Sky just trying to mock Walt Jr.?
Why can't I See full episodes
I do not subscribe currently subscribe to any cable network, but I still would like to watch full episodes. I have to watch the commercials so why can't I see the episodes.
HEY REMEMBER
When Jessie fell through the port-o-let and was crying laying in the RV ALL BLUE

JUST SAYING
80's Music on Breaking Bad
The obvious love for the best of the 80's was when Gayle was doing his worst Major Tom (Coming Home). But did anyone else catch Thomas Dolby recently? A song off one of my all time favorite albums was playing while Skyler was at the carwash register. I grinned ear to ear to hear "Hyperactive" in the overhead speakers at the car wash.
80's New Wave is alive and well on Breaking Bad!
La Familia Michoacana - Was Don Eladio a member?
If you'll recall the song from the 2nd season, "Negro y Azul", they mention that word had reached the bosses in "Michoacan". According to Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Familia_Michoacana, the Michoacan Cartel, or La Familia Michoacana, is the largest supplier of methamphetamine.
Also, the last boss, Nazario Moreno González, had the nickname El Mas Loco, The Craziest. The Cartel is regarded as being very violent, specializing in torture and murder (what a surprise). El Mas Loco was killed in a shootout last year. The article doesn't list his successor or what the current state of La Familia may be . . .
Second Best Line EVA IMO lol
WEBISODE with Brandon Mayhew (Badger) and Walt
Brandon (to Walt who's trying to get his vaccum cleaner back): "Set your car on fire as a distraction"
Walt: "Why the hell would I want to set my car on fire" lol
Best Line EVA IMO lol
Male tweeker: (who gets his head smashed) "If you were builidng an ATM where would you put the weakness"
Female tweeker :I wouldn't put it anywhere" lol

The 2nd best cook now
Can the 2nd best cook after Walt, Jesse, that time, be killed again on the show, this time by Walt himself, fearing self-survival?
Where the hell is Skyler and Walt's Baby??
Did "Holly" just become like "Seven" from Married with Children? lol
or have the writers just assumed we wouldn't notice that she's not there anymore? lol
Why can't we watch Season 4 full episodes online?
We could watch full episode videos earlier this year.
Who says gaming is a waste of time?
I just realized id Software's “Rage” game looks to have simultaneously saved Jesse's bacon and elevated his status with Gus & Mike big-time. In the last scene of episode 10 "Salud.", the action in many ways parallels the Rage game footage in a previous episode (his stance, his weapon, the target movement etc.). As if a switch has been flipped, Jesse slips into survival mode and goes into an almost trance-like state to instinctively draw upon his video gaming experience to take out the last of Don Eladio's men. Amidst a hail of bullets and drifting gun smoke, Jesse, with no muzzle climb, robotically empties his clip at his assailant, eventually killing him; A real-time 1st person shooter (with deadly consequences) for sure. No reset button there. I can’t wait for the next episode!
P.S. At the risk of sounding like a corporate game rep spewing CYA disclaimers (which I am not), I’d like to say that just for the record, gaming (like anything else) can be bad if not done in moderation.
Emmy Skit with Aaron Paul!

40 seconds in, Aaron Paul for the win! MY man Jesse!!!
Walt jr's orange jacket
What brand is he wearing?
Huntington's disease
Was last night the first time we've heard about Huntington's disease being in Walt's family? It's a genetic disease, so that revelation could have serious implications in the storyline. Does Walt have it? Walt Jr.? Here's a link to more information about the disease:

Get Well Soon Mike
You are too crusty to die, so don't. It's a flesh wound, right ?
Watched ALL the seasons in a WEEK! Obsessed. Question...
This show has CONSUMED my life the past week. I had NEVER watched an episode and have been glued to my netflix watching each season...staying up until 5 am some nights...watching it on my iphone as I walk down the streets of New York every chance I get. I hate series television and this surpasses anything I have seen. I have felt sad, sick, questioned morality, hated every character with a passion and then loved them the next minute, laughed, held my breath cried-the music is f'ing genius. Then BOB ODENKIRK!!! When I thought it couldn't be any better. But I am so bad with suspense. I NEED to know that is happening.
Anyway since I just started reading interviews and boards....something that struck me when Gus told WW over dinner that he will "never make the same mistake twice" on the surface I thought that related to Jesse....then flash back to Gus' 'mistake'... his poorly executed initial dealings with the cartel that led to the death of his close partner and cook who he clearly cared about and took upon himself....I just keep thinking that Gus see's this relationship with Walt as far as Jesse is concerned and does NOT have it out for him...I don't know.....I think he values this loyalty...and the father figure Walt has been to jesse...or maybe I just love Walt so much and am giving Gus too much credit as a somewhat reasonable businessman...I just thought that statement meant something more complex than Walt being dumTo watch this all at one time not knowing a single thing about it was so wonderful...b for giving Jesse so many chances...
This episode was insane..
From a Machiavellian View; Walt Vs.Gus
Gus has realised Walt is an alpha-male in the rough. Gus and Walt have gone tit-for-tat throughout the series to see who is the more Machiavellian of the two. Walt has been proven to be more of a blowhard than an actual strategist, one who acts ruthless and confident when the cards are in his favor but at a complete loss of what to do when things begin to go against him. Walt is on par with Gus in intelligence and strategy, but when it comes to command, Walt is dangerously inadequate and woefully negligent with his only soldier (Jesse), using him as a sacrificial lamb to secure his own safety. Walt's short sighted strategies (killing Gale to buy time with no tangible follow-up) stand in stark constrast to Gus' overarching schemes (poisoning the entire goddamn Mexican cartel for christs sake). Jesse has realized this and has slowly begun to side with Gus, who is proven to reward loyalty (ex. Mike, as well as his remorse over the loss of the low-level soldier killed by the sniper outside his warehouse, and his buisness-like relation with Walt early on in the series). With Walt's short sighted strategies, and Gus' knowledge of his penchant for removing rival chemists (Gale) as well as his self serving tendencies, it would make perfect sense for Gus to adapt his strategy into a two pronged attack: Bribing Jesse's allegiance from Walt's command, and then placing a chemist-in-disguise to observe and learn Walt's formula so that, when the time comes loyal Jesse could be retained, that soldier/observer guy that's been tailing Walt could take over the super-lab, and the perpetual thorn in his side (Walt) could be removed. And there ladies and gentleman, is your series finale.
mike
mikes a goner now jesse is the man will jesse kill hank to keep the gman safe if he doesnt die first did walt have a moment of clarity this show is bananas will skylar kill her old boss to keep the heat off her so many questions. the turds are about to hit the fan and surprise us all
Gus started on replacing Walt
With the shoot out in mexico and the video of Jessie's cook I see the story going towards Walt being replaced by Jessie, last year Walt needed Jessie and this season the 2 are probably going to be in another conflict unless Hank or something happens to change all that, glad to see their is a 5th season, thought this season was the last.
Aaron Paul was just on the Emmy's yo!
Jesse must not be in Mexico yet cause he just made an appearance selling meth on the Emmy's yo!
I think i know how the season is going to end
In the epiaode 12 preview it says walt takes drastic action to protect gus and his secret last time he took drastic action he ran over those bulletheads i think hanks gunna catch him confront him and walts quick draw with the snub and kills hank and the heat comes down on gus and a gunfight with the dea will kill gus and walt gets away
WILL THERE BE A SEASON 5??
I live in abq. nm and since i started watching breaking bad in season 2 have wanted to work as an extra. I missed the filming for season 4 by a week, and if it gets picked up for a season 5 i dont wanna miss it again. Any one know?
More Women!!
I am wondering if we are ever going to see Gus and Mike dating. I mean people will surely start whispering
as people do.
Am I the only one who can't see any comment in any topic?
Those forums have been broken for almost a week now in both Firefox and Chrome.
Cancellation
I just read that Breaking Bad has been cancelled. Have you people lost your minds?! This is a great show & Bryan Cranston is fantastic. Why don't you cancel Mad Men? The critics may like it, but Breaking Bad is soooo much better!
The Final Season
Dear AMC,
Please air all 16 episodes as one season. I think if they're shown as 8 and 8, the flow will be lost. I may even have to DVR the first half until right before the second half airs.
An Avid Fan
Breaking Bad parody!
Just noticed this parody of Breaking Bad on Machinima, it's pretty good, the whole last part is like shot for shot from a few episodes ago.

Laundering Money
I understand that Walt is laundering part of his money through the car wash. Gus probably launders SOME through his restaurants. How do Mike and Jesse account for their money. I mean , how do they clean it?
R.I.P. My Theories
My fave theory, that Vic was a traitor to Gus and working with the Cartel, was dashed to pieces in ep 9 when Mike told Walt that if he planned on calling the cops on anymore of HIS guys, then get two barrels.
I don't see Mike bringing any rats to the dance, so goodbye theory, you were a lot of fun to hang out with for a while. Tell my other theory that Walt ran his mouth at Hanks table on purpose that I said hello.
don eladio; is he boss of the cartel still?
I wonder if gus had anything to do with Tucos" uncle being in the wheelchair. He may have also used a box cutter on his tongue as payback him shooting partner/cook. that makes 2 of gus' cooks that got it to the head. sure is a short term being employed by him...also the clean up guy who got sniped.
The Preying Mantis, The Jellyfish and The IRS
Well, looks like many of you called this one in posts going clear back to last season. Seems the torch the Preying Mantis still carries for the Jellyfish Ted is going to lead her to giving some of Walt's very hard earned money to Mr Sponge Cake to get him out from under the IRS.
Now before anyone starts commenting on Ms Gunn's acting abilities, let me just say that obviously a push-up bra, low cut top and heavy blue eye shadow can go a long way. Not necessarily Emmy material.
Does Gus have a home in Mexico?
If so, maybe we'll finally get to see how he spends his "mad cheddar."
Gus Vs. Walt
The foreshadowing this season is amazing. Does anyone remember that Jesse's job was a complete set up a few episodes back when he first started working with Mike and got in the mini car chase?
The fact that Gus was only kept alive because the cartel boss knew who he really was?
You never know what Gus is up to and I like that it's hard to figure his character out. I'm starting to think that Gus is really doing all of these things to benefit everyone. Maybe he is planning on setting up the Mexican Cartel and that is why he agreed to split the profit and manufacturing with them.
Walt is being too neurotic this season and I think Gus and Mike are afraid he is going to mess everything up. Plus it is making Jesse think he is the bad guy.
yay
Reason why, Jesse is just really REALLY disturbed and messed up about this whole thing now more than ever... he got over that massive Binge, now he is seemingly getting into being a huge "bitch" for Cartels now ? ... I would be freaked out too....
then of course, it was going to happen between him and Hank , we knew this for tons of episodes... but it was still sad... and now what - Jesse may most well end up getting killed if he even sets foot in Mexico now.
:(
How many times has Jessie been beaten up?
By Tuco, Hank and, now, Walt. And, on his own, escaping from second floor windows, falling into porta potties, chased by dogs. What else?.
I hope that Gus provides good health insurance. Jessie is going to need it down in Mexico.
Asian meth precursor connection from S3
Anyone else wondering how the precursor barrels with the bee logo will be tied into the show? The same logo can be seen on the precursor barrels in the lab... Asia is notorious for being a source for both meth and mdma precursors.... over 205 million in cash was seized at a chinese bussiness mans mansion in mexico in 07... the biggest drug enforcement seizure of cash ever...meth might be artificial like Gus says but you still need a large precursor connection to make it viable on the scale Gus operates.
Least favorite characters
I can't decide who I like least; Hank or Skyler. I'd say Marie, but mercifully, we don't have to see too much of her.
If this is already a threat.......apologies. The old thread list wouldn't load for me.
IDEAS for future episodes
1. Need to show a vulnerable side for Mike. An option is that he has a medical illness which gives him a setback at the worse time. He could be on Coumadin for Atrial Fib, and he ends up getting a GI bleed; which normally would be passing out after blood in the toilet. Better yet, esophageal varices because he is a drinker - gets sick, vomits blood when he's supposed to be protecting Gus.
Or, he has a daughter in California; addicted to Crystal Meth =- and ends up needing Jesse to help him get her into rehab.
2. Jesse does a great job for Mexican Cartel, and he tells them about Walters problem with Gus. Cartel thinks rather than kill Gus, since they need his distribution, they get Jesse to return; find out Gus distribution. Then they can kill Gus. But Walter saves Gus' life when the cartel tries to kill him; leaving Gus indebted to Walter.
It then defers Hank to the Cartel, rather than Gus.
3. Need an episode explaining Gus Chile connection; he was an enforcer for Pinochet.
4. Walter needs to kill someone this season - he is showing too much weakness. Need to have Heisenberg come out. Maybe he goes to Mexico to visit Jesse; or .... Walter gets kidnapped by the Cartel, since they now have Jesse to Cook. They kidnap Walter and force him to cook in Mexico. They need Gus for his distribution, but by kidnapping Walter, the Cartel gets their product out - thus more money.
bug
lets go yo!
hank - new member to the gang?
I think it is only a matter of time before Hank joins the group. What superb intel he can offer! This may already be a topic in here, just haven't taken the time to look.
Kind of Funny...Cranston siting in Toronto
My 22 yr old daughter went to the preimere of Drive at the Toronto Film Festival. She of course got Ryan Gosling's autograph and then said she also got the guy who played the Dad on "Malcolm in the Middle". OMG is that what this genius of an actor is forever going to be known for? I told her Bryan Cranston was on my favorite TV show and is nothing like the Malcolm character. She said he was real nice and talked with all the fans.
Gus For Mayor Of ABQ
I think Gus should run for mayor of ABQ. He is a successful business man. He is very results oriented and very adept at trouble shooting.

Mike- double agent
i think some how or way mike started working for and with gus. silent partner with out mike how much foot work is not geting done important stuff. in shotgun he phoned for a pick up after jesse drove off with the stash. he phoned for a pick up with a secreat signel to post the coast is clear. and after jesse found him canceled the pick up- like it was a cab
Gus/Gomez Connection.. ??
I have always started to question Gomez after the shooting of Hank, whether he's working WITH the cartel, or with GUS... Amazing abilities aside, I don't think Gus could have came up with those answers from off the cuff... I believe he was privy to that info prior.. and that's where Gomez comes in. Whether it be the flashback scene incorporating a shot of his line, or the way he looks at Walter in the hospital "Your brother in law is one tough son of a bitch.." or even how Gus really doesn't acknowledge him (not looking directly at or shaking his hand before leaving..etc.)
I believe Gus was coached before the interview...
What is Gus hearing
It seems impossible that Mike does not have Walt's home, Sky's home, Jesse's home and all of their cars bugged. He has the means, the opportunity and the desire to know what these people are saying. How much does Gus know about the ricin plot etc.?
online version
where is season 4 episode 8 online...missed it sunday ...website mentioned full episode would be online today thurs. at 2a.m.
An Emotional Gus
I wonder if we will ever see an emotional Gus.How about a Gus crying about his brothers loss and going into a rage. I think that would be cool if he did that and explained to Walt and Jesse what his intentions are for the cartel
skyler weight
why did skyler get so fat!!
Vote: Tucker's Hole FB Page
Would you be interested in a "Tucker's Hole" Facebook page, set up to handle some of the off-topic conversations of the regulars here? There are a lot of Breaking Bad Facebook pages, but they are all really big. I'm thinking of a small page just for the regular members of this forum. Post your thoughts here.
Walt's checkup
I was suspicious after Walt's check up. He seemed to hesitate at the dinner table before he told everybody he was still in remission. I suspect he got some bad news and didn't want to admit it. Whaddaya think?
video winner
Where can I see Jane Parson's winning video?
Walt Jnr on Meth
Don't you think it would be interesting if Walt Jnr started doing meth that was bought indirectly from his own father and then had an OD
The lab equiptment
I'm curious why during the Police interview Hank didn't question Gus about the lab equipment that was somehow connected to one of Gus's Companies. Or the serial number written on the LPH napkin with his fingerprint found in Gale's apartment. Thoughts?
Don Eladio's Playpen
Off topic thread...!Come on in!!!
Just another 65 grand for the hole. He fed the hole and he made the hole happy. It was the only thing he knew how to make happy.
"Maybe it was just his imagination, but whenever he'd pull up that plate, he'd hear a... sucking sound. It started out small, with the first 65 grand. And then it got bigger. Pretty soon it was the only thing he heard. Pretty soon, all he could think about was feeding the hole. He didn't think about when he was a kid. He didn't think about the guys who he started who were still on the up-and-up. He didn't think about the dreams he had with Natalie. He didn't think about those Feds lying there. Most of all, he didn't think about Mona Demarkov, because the way he saw it, she was done. Just another 65 grand for the hole. He fed the hole and he made the hole happy. It was the only thing he knew how to make happy. "

How Will Gus Kill Tio / Hector ?
Post your ideas for the many and various ways Gus might kill this guy.
Mine - Soaks him with gas, sets him on fiyah.
Then shoves him off a cliff so that he can burn that much harder on the way down. : )
Watch episode 8 online
How long do I have to wait to see the most recent episode online if I missed it on Sunday?
When gus talks to hector at the end.
Gus says to Hector, (IS TODAY THE DAY?) Is he talking about the anniversary of when hector kills his chicken brother?
Gus' Past
It was fascinating to see more of how Gus became the stone-cold kingpin he is today. It'll be interesting to see if we keep getting glimpses of his rise to power, like Don Corleone in The Godfather Part II.
What in the world happened to Breaking Bad
What in the world happened to BB. I used to be a big BB fan, but lately the show has gotten so boring that it is almost unwatchable.
Favorite Mike Episode
I was impressed when I saw Mike break the party balloons out of his trunk and thought he had a soft spot. The though didnt last long. The dark humor was back when the chinese guy raised his hand up and Mike put his silencer against the wall. I thought it was a hoot when he rased his hands higher and then lower when the gun barrel was parallel with the guys head and he nodded at mike.
Walt is getting left bout of the loop
I cant help but notice that Walt is not being informed of things he should know. Mike tells Jesse that he will teach jesse how to shoot because things may get hairy. Jesse tells Saul things he should have told Walt 1st. Jese lies when Walt sees on his phone that a meeting with the boss is called off. This really must be fueling the fire on Walts paramoai.
We still know nothing about Gus.
This episode raises more questions about Gus than it answers. For example--
1. Is Gus really from Chile? He says he is, but there's no documentation. We know he spent time in Chile, but immigrated from Mexico. His background remains murky.
2. The only person who seems to know the truth about Gus is Mike. When Gus asks him about the DEA looking into his background, Mike reassures him that Hank's out on his own on this. Mike clearly is using his former contacts in police to clarify the situation.
3. I don't think Spanish is Gus's native language and I don't attribute his careful speech as an actor's flaw. If Spanish is a second language, then where is Gus from? Note he let Max do most of the spanish speaking and there was a big difference beween them.
4. If Gus had worked for Pinochet or black ops, he would have attended that cartel meeting a bit more prepared and he certainly wouldn't have sobbed over Max's death.
4. Vengeance is a dish best served cold. Tio Hector killed Max and Gus delights in tormenting him and screwing the cartel.
5. So why would Gus avenge Max all these years?
Hank and Google Earth
In the previews for next week, Hank is using Google Earth to view Gus' headquarters. I wonder if he will see Walt's car parked outside.
Hector Salamanca
Well, we finally find out what Don Salamanca's name is.
THE INTERVIEW
I thought Gus’s “interview” with DEA & Police was very interesting. There were lots of subtle queues about control and alliances.
First thing that struck me was the seating arrangement in the room . Both Hank and Gus were seated on a side of the table by themselves , while the 3 police/DEA representatives sat together. I took this to mean that the Police/DEA weren’t only there to judge Gus but to judge Hank as well. Both Gus and Hank were all alone in that room , i.e. no alliances with others. Or at best the DEA/Police had not decided who to side with yet i.e. Hank or Gus.
Second thing I loved was Hanks body language when he was left alone with the three Police/DEA agents. Hank takes control and makes a point to ask each agent , one-by-one, what they thought of Gus’s story. As each one answers, one-by-on,e we see Hank look down at the table… but not in a defeated way … more like he’s lost some respect for that person and their inability to see the truth.
Third thing that I found very interesting was Hanks cane. The cane had been set well out of Hanks reach before Gus had entered the room. (This is something Vince loves to do… have us have to fill in a history to a situation) My thought Hank would have had it placed away from him as the cane would signify weakness , when he wants to come across as strong. Then what does Gus do just before leaving the room ? Gus hands Hank his cane… almost as to say your feeble trick doesn’t fool me… you’re weak and no match for me.
Gus Chilean? More like Panamanian.
This has always bothered me.
Chile has no record of major drug cartels or dealings with it; Panama does. Pinochet's generals were not known to be dealing with drug cartels; Noriegas men did. Noriega himself was allied with the Colombian cartels. Even today Panama. with all of its banking and import/export institutions, is a money launderer's paradise.
Lastly, Chile's black population is less than 0.1%, Panama's is 14%. If Gus was in the Chilean Army, he would have been hard to forget.
Hank: "I'm looking for a Gus Fring, he was a black man in Pinochet's Army."
Chilean embassy official:" Well, we only had one black guy in all of Chile who joined the army, so it must be him."
BTW, Max spoke with a neutral but recognizably Mexican accent (Mexican actor). Chileans and Argentinians speak Spanish with a higher pitch and like they are speaking Italian, which is where a lot of them came from.
Clues why Walt broke up with Grettchen in the past?
I wonder why Walter broke up with Grettchen in his past?
In Season 2, when they met at the Restaurant, after Grettchen visited family White´s home.
She mentioned that years ago, Walt just packed his stuff, run away and left her and her family alone!
She asked him if it was because of Elliott and Walt didnt give a answer..
I think this whole thing has a lot do with Walt´s character. Why he is, how he is..
Would love to see what happened in the past..
Somebody got a clue or am i something missing?
Season 4 Episode 9
Does anyone know when the episode 9 will be available to re-watch....I missed it tonight!
Music Vignettes - walter wandermly
The clothes/cash packing scene in season IV episode 8 is to a Walter Wanderly tune. I have like 10 of his albums. I wish they'd do more music vignettes like they did in that early episode with all the tweaker close ups.
Don Eladio
Who's Manny related to?
Hermanos
Gail slept with Gus
Hermanos
Who thinks we'll see Gus's brother?
Who dresses Saul?
I cant help but notice that Saul dresses more like a bartender in a gay bar than a lawyer. Just a thought
Gus and the Cartel???
Ok...I hope I don't get pounced on for this, but I'm a little confused as to how/why Gus and the Cartel are in business together? Is it possible that before Gus had Gale and the super lab up and running, he got his supply of meth from Mexico?? Is that why they are pissed at him? Can someone clarify their whole relationship?
Prediction.
Gus will protect Walt from the cartel. Walt will protect Gus from the DEA. I see Gus eventually dying, but not this season. I see him and Walt coming to an understanding.
Need spanish translator for S02 E07 Negro Y Azul
I know this is an old episode, rewatching the series.
Does anyone have a good command of spanish?
I'd like transcript of what Tortuga is talking to Vanco about in S02 E07 of Breaking bad, Negro Y Azul.
This starts around 26-27 minutes into the video, before he asks Hank for the skymall catalog book.
Mid season Prediction Game Update
Time to have a look back to see how many pre season predictions made by yourself and others have panned out during the first 7 episodes
http://blogs.amctv.com/breaking-bad/talk/2011/07/play-the-predic.php
More missed than hits so far?
Okay, so lets hear your top three predictions for eps 6 through 13.
Familia es Todos
My theory is that Hank will break bad. Walt is his family and has provided for him (though he doesn't know it yet). Also, the corruption at the DEA will help him in that direction. I think that a Walt/ Hank team will displace the Gus/ Mike team. Hank has all the skill set of Mike. The cartel will do business with Walt just as easily as they did with the South American, though some will always remember Tuco. The corruption will remain at the DEA and life will go on without the story ever hitting the newspapers. Lots of detail and plot to get from here to there.
Real College Professor Allegedly Led Motorcycle Gang, Drug Ring
A Cal State San Bernardino professor who allegedly led a chapter of the Devils Diciples motorcycle gang was charged Thursday with heading up a methamphetamine drug ring that involved several other dealers.
Top 5 TV shows/Movies
I'm taking a survey, just for sh!ts and giggles.
My song parody from season 2 has been retrieved from Tucker's Hole:
Someone referred to Jesse mistakendly as "Jessie Pinkerman." The name so captured my imagination, that I found myself singing it to the tune of Simon & Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson." I've seen other "Breaking Bad" song parodies on here, so I was inspired to expand the one line with a whole song. I'm picturing Jesse, stuck in rehab, where the indignities begin with the staff getting his name wrong.
"Jessie Pinkerman" (Sung to the tune of "Mrs. Robinson").
And here's to you, Jessie Pinkerman.
Your addiction is an awful shame...it's no game.
God bless you please, Jessie Pinkerman.
Sorry we keep messing up your name..we're to blame; we're to blame.
We all have chores here, teachig us to better face the world.
It's a really cozy little nook.
What's your talent? what's your skill? We'll find a slot for you.
Would you like to try to be our cook?
Coo, coo, ca-choo, Jessie Pinkerman.
Jesus loves you more than you will know; woe, woe, woe.
God bless you please, Jessie Pinkerman.
Heaven holds a play for those who pray; hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
Sitting in group therapy on Sunday afternoon;
having private sessions with your counselor.
Cry about it, talk about it,
Just don't talk too loud.
Revelations just might draw a crowd.
Where have you gone, girl of Jessie's dreams;
Jessie turns his lonely eyes to you (Boo hoo hoo).
What's that you say, Jessie Pinkerman -
Junkie Jane has left and gone away.
(Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey).
