Should Season 4 be it?
Looking forward, I certainly hope that when Vincent Gilligan and the writers go to the suits and say "we think we've run our course and we'd like to go out on top and with class and we'd like to start wrapping up the story threads so that the show ends with season 4 (or perhaps even 5...who knows?)
I certainly hope the suits in charge will respect his wishes and allow them to finish the series the same way they started. With class.
Please don't offer the cast and crew more money so they can extend the storyline beyond what is acceptible within the reality that has been established JUST for the sake of ratings and the syndication futures. The plot was handed to us right up front knowing Walt had a limited number of months to go before his time was up. He decided to make the best of what little time he had to do the most for his family. So far that seems to be blowing up in his face. ha ha ha. But I would hope the powers that be do the right thing by the viewers.
Breaking Bad, in many viewers opinions, is THE best written series on TV. When Gilligan thinks it's time...then allow him the tools to finish his story.
This way the show can always be looked back on as a class act....not one of the many past series that went too far and jumped the shark.
